Its the Gabe and Graham Show! (PLUS TIPS)

Interesting posts on the forum about my fellow presenter Gabe Turner. He seems to have his own fanclub in the West Midlands! Well tonight I partner GT (Girly initials, gin and tonic!!!) so hopefully we will witness great racing, money giveaways and one or two naughty texts! Thats Getminted Racing , Sky Channel 279 between 8 and 10 - be there or be a four sided object with each side of exact equal length!

Silver Cat - 8:12 - 14/1

Certainly good enough to win much more than he has to date. Very experienced for a 4 year old, the colt from the Foxy911 stable has run in 70 races, winning in 8 and being placed in 28. After a poor spell he returned to better ways finishing 3rd in his last race a week ago in Australia. That performance combined with the rest should see him run well this evening at generous odds.

Grey Gamble - 8:36 - 18/1
Well JSM Racing can't ask for anymore from this horse. He's raced in one and won one , clear and simple. Granted it was only a small field of 7 last Friday but a wins a win. Gray Gamble was bought on the 21st of this month and has already repaid his buying price in prize money. Not bad going. At 18/1 I think its hard not to look at this horse. A placed finish very possible.

Whiskey Rain - 9:24 - 15/2

If this virtual horse was a real car she'd be a rolls royce because when she runs she's smooth and understated. The 2 year old fillie is now looking to make it three wins in a row. In just 3 runs she's clocked up winnings of £116.23, superb stuff. If she continues this run of form she'll have £3,870 in the bank by run number 100! She hasn't been out since the 17th of this month when she won in Canada over this distance. Great horse who could win tonight.

Two nights of pure LUNAR..CY!

On Saturday night we watched my tip Lunar Blast off finish 2nd in an exciting Getminted race at odds of 20/1! Brilliant....but then last night the 26/1 Lunar Science equalled that feat, also finishing second as predicted. Tonight Lunar Blast off is back....could it happen again....surely not!!

After the heady heights of last Saturday Lunar Blast off has dusted himself down for the 8:48 race this evening. The bookies have learnt the hard way that Lunar Blast off is far better than the odds they offered in the last race suggested but he's still available for 13/1 tonight. In 12 races now the Diablo Race horse has won in 4 and been placed in 4, I fancy him to add to one of those stats tonight.

Rev up the horse power!

In a field such as this I'd fancy my terrier 'Barney' to run well such is the level of inexperience and poor quality! Still the stars of tomorrow have to start somewhere and theres nowhere better than in the 9:24 race tonight. This two year old fillie has only been out once before, in a grade one race which is what we will have this evening, he did well then to finish third in a blanket finish. At 11/2 she may be good enough to win but a place is more likely.

Annettes Boy to tuen in a manly performance

I'm always attracted to odds of 17/2. It tells me the bookies have thought long and hard about the horse. Why would they be unwilling to offer 9/1 odds? because they're afraid this horse may prove them embarrasingly wrong. In 36 runs so far, Annette's boy has won in 4 and been placed in 15. The 3 year old colt has had two places in his last two races though he's waited a long time for his last win. Last time out on firm he ended up in third in a strong field in Australia. Certainly worth an each way punt at these odds.

Don't mess with the Iron Duke!

Well like Lunar Blast off in last night's big race The Iron Duke is also offered at fantastic odds of 20/1 for tonight's 8:24. His recent record over fast going which we will have in the USA this evening is very positive. A convincing winner on the 16th of January just north of here in Canada the prospects for the Iron Duke are very healthy indeed.

In 18 races the 3 year old colt is maturing well having won 2 races and been placed in 10. At odds of 20/1 he must have a shot at a good placed finish at least as he's been rested for the last three days.

Destiny's Child on a fantastic run
In the last two races Destiny's child really left the rest of both fields for dead to pick up career wins number 9 and 10. Last time out on fast going in Canada last Wednesday the four year old fillie was scintilating winning over this particular distance. In all shes won in 10 out of 59 races but has also been placed in 29. An excellent horse at excellent odds of 8/1. I'm backing this one to win in the 8:36 but an each way punt may be rather wise too!

After Lunar Blast off last night I have to back Lunar Science this evening!
Yes if Lunar Science is half the horse blast off is then we're in for a big pay day! This 2 year old though relatively inexperienced has a really good shot at causing a suprise in the 9:12 showdown down under. Last time he tried his hand at firm going he won on this very track, that was a week ago in a field of 7 and incidentally was the only time Lunar Science has raced on firm. Will be well used to the standard of competition here and at odds of 26/1 he really could get up to notch a place.

Fantastic run by Lunar Blast off!

What can I say about Lunar Blast off in the 9:48 race last night?. Odds of 20/1 were offered and readers of these tips took them as the Diablo trained horse finished second, just pipped at the post in an amazing race. Multiply your flutter by ten then and enjoy a great weekend compliments of the Virtual Racing blogspot!

Hawaiian Sound to have them singing in Honolulu!

Nice odds here for the Diablo trained 4 year old colt who is well used to the old winner's enclosure. The 10/1 shot in tonight's 8:57 race from Australia has won 19 times in his 74 race career, thats a 26% win to run ratio. He hasn't been out since last Wednesday so fitness levels should be okay also.

Two wins in the last five races shows that he still has the ability to shine. However the only concern comes with the fact that Hawaiian Sound rarely runs on good going. Still he can't be avoided for an each way finish at these fantastic odds.

Wolver to be the Speed merchant!
Three wins back to back, full fitness and a damn good owner- Wolver Speed has it all! However weight handicaps could apply here for the 3 year old colt from the Liveoak Stables. With just two runs so far this year the owners cleverly haven't rushed Wolver Speed into anything preferring instead to make sure he is right before his races. Attractive odds of 11/2 makes me think this boy can't be avoided each way wise in the 9:12 race.

5...4....3...2.....1.... - LUNAR BLAST OFF!
I feel like singing! Odds of 20/1 for Lunar Blast off in the 9:48 race, excellent. The youngster has started his virtual career off in style winning in 4 and being placed in 3 of his 11 races to date. Thankfully well rested since his last race on muddy when he finished 4th out of a field of 10 in a similar grade race as tonight back on the 19th. His last win was also on muddy, it being on the 6th of January. At these odds any placed finish will suffice, don't miss out, back him now!

It's Friday night, time to make some money on the GG's!

What a week, the FA finally see sense and give Sven his marching orders, More Lib Dems MPs caught with their pants down, The Republic of Ireland and England get relatively easy draws for the next European Championships but Scotland end up in another Group of Death while Wales and Northern Ireland have uphill battles to climb and Dave's band make a come back!!! Anyway on to the horses, top tips tonight, hopefully they'll make you some £££££!

KalamKar (IRE) - 8:12 - 15/2

This colt still has heaps of potential though he also boasts an impressive list of experience as well. In 49 runs so far KalmKar has won 9 times and been placed in 23. Currently on a good run of 3 wins on the trot though 2 were in claiming races. His record on muddy going is encouraging as well and at 15/2 he could well enter the double figures in terms of wins. Hasn't raced since the 23rd so will use the 4 day rest to his benefit.

Mai Valentine - 8:57 - 11/1

After Birmingham City winning 5-0 last weekend I'm sure the owners of Mai Valentine Bluess7 were on cloud nine. That feeling could be topped this evening if his 3 year old colt Mai Valentine could win at odds of 11/1. Another contender aiming for three wins on the trot. Won last time out of the 18th of this month in England on good going when she shone in a full field of 14. Great chance of success tonight, great each way potential.

Anushka - 9:24 - 18/1

This 5 year old will be so eager to race this evening that the stewards trackside will have to hold her back! She hasn't been out since the 7th of January so the signs suggest her fitness could add an extra few furlongs to her performance. A win and two placed finishes from her last three races. All in all 66 runs, 14 wins and 26 placed finishes, should improve one of these stats tonight.

Energy levels fading after electric night in the East End

Took a while to get going this morning after a great night in the EAST END where we saw Dave's band 'The Fades' rock a popular joint. The quite man behind the screens lets loose on stage, perhaps he'll give a live performance on Getminted some night! Anyway on to the tips......

Bombshelter - 8:12 - 17/2
While this girl doesn't normally like getting dirty on muddy going she has the ability to land something at these nice odds. In her 8 runs to date shes emerged victorious in 4 and been placed in 2. Has raced twice this week already winning on Tuesday on firm in Hong Kong. A very versatile horse she can run well over any distance and may be too hot to handle for the others this evening. Each way punt material.

Geneva Convention - 8:24 - 15/2
It's hard for me to avoid this horse with my left wing political beliefs! While all others especially a certain George W Bush disregards the Geneva Convention, I will not! That's because the bookies feel he has a chance in his maiden race, also he comes from the Island House stable. It's good to see Andy's horses running, hope you're doing okay fella. Anyway Geneva Convention was bought last Sunday and lets hope he starts his career off with a win.

Kneel before me - 8:48 - 16/1
The old colt is never too far away from success. In 68 runs to date he's won 11 times and been placed in 13. Indeed I'm sure the red halo racing stable are down on their knees as we speak praying for win number 12 tonight. Has already picked up a win in 2006, that was back on the 9th of the month when he won in style on fast in Canada. He's certainly good enough to win though the distance will worry the trainers a bit. Go for an each way with this old boy.

3 Bankers or 3 tankers!

Working with Gabe Turner is a punishing excercise but what I will say about him is that he's the Getminted King of laughter, hope you enjoyed last night's show because I know I did! Anyway on to tonight and the tips that could come through and pay for that swish car you've been eyeing up, that special edition sharapova jigsaw you've always wanted or a new hoover as requested by herself!!!

BS high hopes - 8:24 - 14/1

Though inexperienced this baby looks set the electrify the virtual racing world. In 4 runs to date he's won twice and recorded a 2nd placed finish once. As we have good going tonight it's encouraging to discover that BS high hopes won well on good on the 8th of this month in the Uk. May be carrying a bit of extra weight tonight following handicapping but still at 14/1 is great value for a placed finish.

Fast Bay - 8:57 - 15/2

While not a born lover of fast going the El Zorro trained fillie has a good overall record and the bookies feel she could be back to winning ways this evening. In total she has won 3 times and been placed in 5 of her 13 races. Rested over the last week so should have all guns blazing this evening.

Katamonia - 9:12 - 11/2

A winner last time out on fast when in strong company on the 20th of January in the USA. Inexperienced, it will take some time for her to find her best conditions. She has clinched victory once before and has been placed in 3 of her 4 races so far. Owned by Mountain Peaks she could run well tonight and deserves continued success. Good shout for an each way finish.

Tonight's top tips for the greatest show on earth!

I've decided to play it a little safer tonight after a few days of putting all my hopes on long shots. In saying that I've backed a 28/1 so don't worry I haven't become too cautious. Juck click on read more to see tonight's fancies:

Schalenblende - 8:12 - 5/1
This 4 year old colt hasn't been out since the 15th of this month so the rest should see it in great condition for the 8:12 this evening. He won in style on firm when last out on it back on the 14th of the month, the win in England was deadly over a slightly longer distance. In 11 runs this boy has won 6 times and been placed in 3. Good enough to win here this evening.

On tenderhooks - 8:57 - 28/1
Sensational odds for the fen toger trained fillie here. It certainly is stronger than the odds suggest but what do we care! In 15 runs the 3 year old has won on 3 trips and been placed 8 times. Indeed all 3 wins came in her last 5 races so she has that winning feeling close at hand. Unlucky not to finish in the places when last out on firm just two days ago. Should challenge for the top three this evening in the 8:57 race.

Drunken Soldier - 9:24 - 17/2
No, not a US marine in Iraq but a virtual horse from the Red Halo Racing stable. The 2 year old colt has only been out 5 times but has picked up three placed finishes already. Was poor last time out on the 18th of January but showed good potential on firm 4 days earlier when he came in 4th with a nice run. Back at good weight this evening as very light for last race. Perhaps good enough to get a placed finish.

Trying to pick a winner- what to look out for.

So you know the basics about how to pick a winner. However whether it be in real or virtual racing the great punter is a very different animal to the good punter. Greats study more than just form or age, they resemble Scotland Yard detectives looking at every aspect of the horse they go for. Lets see what these 'extra' criteria are for a winner.

I know it sounds basic but odds are crucially important. Unless you're prepared to lay down large stakes on horses with very short odds then you're wasting your time backing them atall. Indeed on Getminted records show that for one reason or another favourites win much less than in real racing. This is especially true during televised races I've been told so make use of the longer odds.

Give yourself those extra few minutes
when trying to pick a winner or a placed finisher at decent odds to look at who your horse has beaten and been beaten by in the past. This as in real racing is a vital gauge but very often over looked by many punters. Once a horse has the beating of another they'll figure well against them always.

A long run of poor form is hard to end as is a long run of good form. Form is everything in horse racing so don't fool yourself by thinking a horse that was once great will return to that level again. Sometimes it just won't happen and the horse has had it's day.

Always keep an eye on horses from the more succesful stables. Chances are the horse even if it's inexperienced will be as well trained as it can possibly be and running in a race which based on training times it's best suited to.

Remember one victory in a strong field is better than three in weak fields when it comes to the big televised races. If you're thinking of backing a horse make sure you look at the quality of the fields he/she has raced in before. Many owners look for the win if they spot a weak field but for the big races a horse with such a history will be destroyed so don't be fooled by statistics.

Always check for owner previews on Getminted. Often an owner will send in a message saying his horse is running at full fitness and great training times or on other occassions they may add that their horse has no shoes so it's one to avoid. These are vital pieces or insider knowledge that people pay big money for in real racing.

Check the forums, if you see alot of owners interested in a particular horse you know he/she is set for big things. Perhaps jott the name down and keep tabs on how it performs until you find it in a race at nice odds.

Enjoy it, the amount of times I've lost are always forgotten when I win which makes it all worthwhile.

Emerald Cat to experience a direct benefit and win, what a relief for the owners!

You're probably wondering what the hell I'm on about! Well these are my tips for tonight's Getminted racing programme. Fast growing in popularity don't forget to tell your friends about the site and show. By doing so you could earn credits galore!
Anyway here's the tips for tonight:

Emerald Cat - 8:12 - 15/2
This 3 year old colt is quality, no doubt about it. Bought by Nick's racing yard from Racing Slim, the cost of £51 shows this horse means business. In his 6 races so far he's won twice and been placed 4 times. Tonight in Dubai the going is muddy and indeed both of Emerald Cat's victories came on muddy on the 3rd and 4th of this month. Hasn't been out since the 18th so at least has had a few days to get fitness levels back to where they should be. An each way flutter a wise option here.

Direct Benefit - 8:48 - 18/1
Great odds for the pughie trained fillie. An old girl with experience (Wayne Rooney would certainly throw a few £s her way!!) she has had 11 wins and 32 placed finishes in her 71 runs to date. Has won twice in 2006 already though both of these results came in claiming races. With a 52% place to run ratio you could bank on this 5 year old being close to the front with a furlong to go. Another placed finish on the cards.

What a relief - 9:55 - 8/1

This horse should be called Mr. Consistency. It's very rare indeed that the 5 year old finishes outside the places. In fact he has only been outside the top four once this year so far. Has had 34 runs picking up 6 wins and 15 placed finishes. Won on muddy here in Dubai back on the 5th of May 2005. A repeat performance on the cards this evening. Find out how What a relief gets on by watching GETMINTED RACING on Sky Channel 279 between 8 and 10 this evening.

Losing to United hurts like hell!

How many times will this happen in games between these two sides. Liverpool on top only for United to steal the points in the last minute. Ah well after I got over the fact that we lost to our old rivals yet again I realized we are actually a better side than them this year with a better squad and that we'll finish second anyway. Enjoy your gloating guys, get back to me at the end of the season and we'll see who's gloating then!!!!

SalnClaire get win number 1!

CONGRATULATIONS to the wonderful Salnclaire stable who got their first stable win today. 'Beanie's webcam' ran a stormer to capture the victory in England. Granted there were only 3 horses in the field and another was a Salnclaire horse named Angel Caitlyn but a wins a win. Well done girls, I'm sure this will be the start of something beautiful!

Stables on the brink of special wins!

Best of luck to the following who are so close to picking up milestone victories as Getminted Owners:

Ghostlyfast - on 48 wins...(50 not far away!)
Heinz- 0n 590 wins ...(gunning for the 600 mark, excellent stuff)
Tightline- on 85 wins...(Won't be happy as Arsenal supporters but eyeing up 100 wins this season)
Abbadon - on 792 wins...(At this rate Abbadon will have the 800 by the time I finish writing this!)

Theres ony one NOLAN!

After Everton's amazing 1-0 win yesterday at home to Arsenal I realised I just had to write a piece on our great friend Nolan. Owner of the Nolan's Flyer's stable the Everton supporter who now resides in Brighton I believe has been a friend to many on Getminted and if there was a prize for the most popular owner then this man would certainly be in the short list.

Nolan joined Getminted on the 5th of November last year and has already celebrated 4 wins and 25 placed finishes. The last win came just two days ago when 'Completely Almost' decimated a full field of 14 in America picking up her first win.

On behalf of all the Getminted team I wish Nolan all the best of luck on and off the track for 2006. Eventhough Everton will end up going down with Sunderland and Portsmouth!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a Liverpool man Nolan I have to say that (even if I don't honestly believe it!)

Uncertain smile to have the last laugh!

Yes the 17/2 shot from the funny farm stable could suprise in the 8:12 race in Hong Kong this evening. For all tonight's tips simply click on read more below. Tomorrow I will have a run down of the week's tips and tell you how much you would have made had you followed them........

Uncertain smile - 8:12 - 17/2
In horse racing there's nothing quite like experience and Uncertain smile has this in bucket loads. The funny farm are the third owners of this 5 year old colt, the other two being Jazzy and Golden Glory Racing. With 10 wins from 82 runs Uncertain smile enters the 'good but could do better' category. Still his 32 placed finishes have delivered a good return for the stable. Likes the firm going winning back on the 10th of January on firm in Hong Kong. Has had an 11 day rest since last outing so will be fresh this evening, could be good enough for a place.

Flying Start- 8:26 - 11/1
Born to race on firm going Flying start's 2 career wins to date have come on this type of going. The first of those wins came on the 4th of January in Hong Kong over this distance when the 3 year old beat of the challenges of 4 others in a small field. Two days ago the Foxy911 stable experienced that winning feeling again winning in Australia in a field of 11. Flying Start was bought at auction by Foxy911 from the Ken Allen's stable so the pedigree is undoubted.

Slow Mo Camera - 9:48 - 32/1
Anything could happen with Slow Mo Camera in the 9:48 race tonight. This is her first competitive race since the 25th of November last year as owners Hala Madrid try to offload her. To be honest though the 3 year old is better than many horses in this field and I worry that confidence levels will be low as she hasn't raced against great opposition for a while. Has done well over firm in the past and I think at these tasty odds she could do well tonight.

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE ESPECIALLY RAFA BENITEZ AND LIVERPOOL THIS EVENING. MY PREDICTION
: Man United 0 Liverpool 1 (S. Gerrard 43 mins)

Tonight's tips- (all long odds!!)

Dancing Brave - 8:36 - 15/1

This 6 year old colt is vastly experienced and has now run 91 times so almost at the glorious 100 mark. With 16 wins and 32 places under the belt we can see that this old boy has the potential to get something out of this race this evening. He won when last out on muddy on the 10th of January so an each way flutter here could do the business.

MC Isabella - 8:57 - 20/1
Well after Kenny Bailey delivered for me last night I thought it only right to back another Major Chase horse this evening, he seems to be lucky for me! This 3 year old fillie has only been out 10 times but has done well winning in 3 and being placed in 3. The muddy going won't be unfamiliar and this girl could make you have one hell of a saturday night!

Elkem Biz - 9:55 - 33/1

A lot of average horses in the last race of the night paving the way for a longshot to land a suprise. In 16 runs to date Elkem Biz has never won but has claimed 5 placed finishes. Well used to muddy and I think at these long odds a small wager on a placed finish might be a clever option.

The Major Chase is on!

I've always been a fan of Kenny Bailey and tonight I believe he should run well at very nice odds of 15/1. With an excellent record of 60 runs, 10 wins and 24 placed finishes this horse all the way from Twickenham also boasts a solid record on firm going. Indeed 4 of his 10 victories have come on this going and I dare say Jonathon will have a wee flutter on his 4 year old colt in the 8:48 race this evening.

Kenny Bailey was entered in a claimer recently but wasn't picked up, how this happened I'm suprised. Anyway a 2nd place finish last time out on firm on the 3rd of this month could well be replicated. Beaten that day by Alley Cat, it should take one hell of an effort to beat him tonight at this nice distance.

What the hell was Bettys Blinders thinking of with this horse name- Is it the car reg?
Yes I feel sorry for us commentators trying to get around this one tonight. '15f006' comes from the Betty's blimder's stable and has fared well so far on Getminted. Though the 2 year old fillie has only been out 3 times he's won once and been placed in two. The win however was in a claiming race. Tonight 15f006 runs at odds of 50/1 in the 8:57 race. Its certainly worth a small flutter for a placed finish, we've seen long shots do well before and perhaps this can be the latest to suprise.

Prince Barron aiming to make it 4 wins on the trot in the 9:12
Well I know this amazing run has to come to an end at some stage but please please may it not be tonight! The 3 year old colt from the DVDMAN1 stable has been given wonderful odds of 26/1 and if he can continue to perform to his best theres no doubt he'll challenge for glory in the 9:12 race this evening. 3 wins from 4 runs says it all for Prince Barron. Though he has raced twice in the last week fitness levels should still be okay. I hear this one has been training in the green glens of Antrim!

Well done again for winning the tri-cast challenge last night Neale. Tonight's Getminted will be presented my me, Graham Clifford along with Mike Lawrence so tune into Sky Channel 279 at 8 o clock for the very best in the world of virtual horse racing.

After a great night for the tipster can K-21 Kamchatskiy keep the good run going?

Tirpitz winning at 9/1 and Hoodlum getting a third place at 17/2 completed a good night's work for yours truly last night. So far this week we've had a host of results in our favour and hopefully K-21 Kamchatskiy can keep the good times rolling in the 8:12 race from Dubai. Odds for the 3 year old colt stand at 15/2 so placed finish is not to be sneezed at.

The ADM Racing horse's record so far isn't the best on getminted though I believe he runs better on fast going than on anything else. Out of 31 runs he's found victory just twice and has been placed in 12 so heres hoping for a good run this evening.

Living next door to Alice
Well if I was I could probably gauge her form better but as it is I think she has a chance in the 9:12 race in the USA. Vastly experienced the 6 year old has raced 117 times winning in 16 and being placed in 51. Alice finished second on muddy in her last race in Dubai over muddy narrowly losing out on another win. At 16/1 shes worth backing for an each way finish.

I may be throwing my money into the wind but maybe just maybe......
Yes the worry here is obviously fitness. Into the wind has raced 8 times in January already and its only the 19th of the month! What a month its been though since new years day the 2 year old fillie has won 3 times and been placed in 4. Sensational stuff but the bookies believe shes past it for this race, the 9:36, we just want one last push at the massive odds of 58/1. Are you brave (or stupid) enough???????

Watch out for the Hoodlum!

This horse needs no introduction. He's been frightening the pants off other owners for a while now with his calm starts and electric finishes. Hoodlum enters the 8:12 race from the UK at long and tasty odds of 17/2. Despite racing twice in the last week he should be good enough to finish in the top three.

His stats read 153 runs, 46 wins and 66 placed finishes- pure class and basically what you'd expect from a Diablo Trained horse. While muddy, soft and yielding are this 6 year old colt's preferred types of going normally he does have an impressive record on good. Indeed he won in his last race on good back on the 7th of december so should go close tonight.

Tirpitz good enough to land a prize though inexperienced
His record on good going couldn't be any better. In two runs Tirpitz from Germany has won both on the 4th and 7th of December. Both races included full fields so the owners Lady Harkin will fancy it's runners chances in the 8:36 race at favourable odds of 9/1. This 2 year old colt hasn't raced for a week so fit and well and gunning for his first win of 2006. In 12 races so far Tirpitz has won 3 times and been placed in 8. Solid each way potential.

New recruit racing like an old pro
Its only 'Sound Reason's' third race in his career tonight but to see him run you'd think that he was around for years. On the 11th of this month the 2 year old won in style in the Getminted Monthly League Qualifier on fast going displaying composure and a fine finishing kick. This will be Sound Reason's first race on good going but he should be well able to handle it and finish in the places or perhaps even record two wins on the trot. He runs in the 9:24 race at nice odds of 8/1.

Red Halo's 'Kneel before me' in excellent form of late and could do well tonight

This 7 year old colt may be in the twilight of his career but clever training seems to be doing the job for the Red Halo Racing stable. 'Kneel before me' has won 4 of his last 6 races and at odds of 9/1 must be fancied to get something out of tonight's race in Canada.

One of these 4 wins came over muddy which is what we will have at the course in Canada this evening. In 67 races this old boy has won 11 times, been placed in 12 and should add to one of those stats in the 8:12 race this tonight.

Sexy Beast to wet the ladies appetite!!
Yes this 5 year old colt is certianly not modest! In sporting terms he lives up to the 'sexy' reputation, like Kournikova on the tennis court 'Sexy Beast' fails to deliver on the world's tracks. In 85 races to date the 5 year old colt has won 12 times and has been placed in 36, not the best in the world but in fairness still handy. Very unlucky not to win on muddy back on the 6th of January finishing just half a length behind the winner. He hasn't raced since the 9th so has had a well earned rest after a hectic start to the month. Odds here of 10/1 for Sexy Beast who runs in the 9:36.

If in form Cheesley can challenge at 26/1
When in form he's great, when out of sorts he resembles a donkey on Brighton beach. In 32 runs he's won just 6 times and has been placed in 11. Last two races were claimers and Cheesley ran well in both, winning one and finishing second in the other. It won't be easy but a placed finish at 26/1 is possible for this 4 year old fillie in the 9:48 race.

Ukobach and Freedom Straight put a smile on my face with great runs

Trojan performances last night from two of my tips. Ukobach at 8/1 finished in second in the 8:12 race. Also we saw Freedom straight, priced at 13/2 get in the places with a third place in the 9:48. Bought solid odds and if you followed my lead and had something on them, well done.

Ukobach hiding a ferrari engine!

How frustrating some horses can be! Take Ukobach for example, a 3 year old colt with a 50% place to run ratio after 47 runs, such a return is admirable. However the other 50% doesn't look too hot, this horse has won just 4 times and while it comes so close over and over again it just hates the spotlight! Tonight at 8/1 win number 5 may well be on the cards in an average field.

Rested since the 11th of this month this colt from the Abaddon stable generally likes firm going and in 9 career runs on this going has won one, been placed in 6 and finished outside the places twice. Place number 7 on the cards this evening in the 8:12 race on Getminted Racing.

Wild horse has the power in the legs
Freedom Straight has always taken my eye and to be honest I'm not really sure why, in 22 races he's been generally poor, winning just twice and being placed in a paltry 5. However something strange happens when his virtual hoofs touch the virtual fast going. In an unimpressive career the high points clearly occur on fast, take for example his race on the 9th of January when he finished just half a length behind 'Live Well' to claim second in the USA. Odds of 13/2 are shorter than I would have liked but still worth an each way shout.

In your room, in great form
What a solid performer this 4 year old is. In 10 runs to date 'In your room' has won 4 times and been placed in 3. In the last five races he's won once and been placed in three highlighting his consistency despite running over different types of going. This will be his first time out on firm but the 4/1 shot is well capable of adapting. He runs in the 9:55 and could even win.

Wait up to clean up in the 8:57

Boy does this 3 year old fillie like her muddy going. Though only with us since the 22nd of November last year her statistics on muddy read 4 runs, 1 win and 3 placed finishes. Trained by the Supergran stable 'Wait up' usually runs on shorter distances but in her 9 race career the 9/2 shot has been succesful over 2 miles as well.

Entered in a claimer last Friday with the owners presumably attempting to cash in on this fine virtual animal. Well worth a pot at each way at fairly sweet odds.

Speed merchant to live up to her name
With Speed Merchant's record on muddy going you wonder why she isn't entered in more races over this type of going. Twice out on the messy stuff she's won both times and enters the 9:36 race this evening at good odds of 5/1. Trained by the Ken Allen's stable the pedigree is obvious. Looking for a hatrick of wins today having blitzed all in her last two. This is a real sprint though and Speed Merchant will have to kick earlier than normal to win. Each way punt should be safe here.

Water Dance could be good enough to land a placed finish at 17/2 in the 9:48
Few songs will be written about Water Dance but he has ability, more of a street fighter than a prime athlete but has a good place to run ratio. The stats read 47 runs, 4 wins and 21 placed finishes. At 17/2 I think he's worth a flutter at each way as he has a reasonable record over muddy and few will see him as a genuine threat. They may be very much mistaken if the Mickeez trained 4 year old has his way.

Lady Z for Dallas1

The 21:36 race is full of experience, but not all the horses a particularly successful. The dallas1 horse Lady Z (which must have been a Clan horse previously - due to the Z) looks pretty good at 5/1.

A few outsiders to look at could be Mozeula from the experienced EL ZORRO at 22/1 and Mellonomin from Menace at 26/1.

8 winners for the team last night

Not bad going for Ces and Dave last night - picking 8 winners between them and getting a couple of places too - let's hope we can get a few winners tonight.

Booze Cruiser from Silly's Stables looks like a good pick for a win in the 20:36 tonight with Milky Chocolate from jaymart for an outsider.

The placed specialist could just go one better this evening

ADM Racing will be happy without being delirious with 'Three fingered Jack's' progress so far. Although the 2 year old colt has been placed in 5 of his 6 runs he has yet to enter the winner's enclosure. A versatile and strong virtual contender, its only a matter of time before he finds that elusive win and tonight could be the night.

The bookies have gone for the generous odds of 13/2. He hasn't raced since last Tuesday so fitness levels should be okay. Certainly worth an each way flutter in the 8:24 race.

Lunar Sprinter could send you over the moon!
Attractive odds here too for Lunar Sprinter. Only one win out of 5 runs so far, but it did come on soft going and thats exactly what we'll have in Hong Kong this evening. A placed finish under the belt as well Lunar Sprinter certainly has a good chance of nicking a place in the 8:36 at 10/1 all going well.

Nothing better than Versatility!
I'm backing an ADM Racing horse yet again, this time it's Versatility in the 9:55 race. This is another 2 year old colt in a stable that resembles the Ajax youth academy at the moment! This one is certainly a lover of the yielding soft and muddy going and should go close at 18/1 this evening. In 7 runs so far he has one win and three placed finishes which isn't a bad effort for a newcomer. Recent form has dipped slightly but at such odds he's hard to avoid.

Keep the kids indoors, its the return of Ginger Ninja!

Granted Ginger Ninja has only raced on firm once before and it didn't exactly end in a blaze of glory but this horse still has great ability as the statistics display- 19 runs, 4 wins and 8 placed finishes. Paul (LUFC) knows this one is well able to mix it up with the best and will be expecting good things at odds of 8/1.

Ginger Ninja runs in the 9:36 race from Australia, the venue for most of our races tonight. Don't forget to tune in this evening,Lynsey Hooper and I will be calling the ggs home- 8-10pm- Sky Channel 279

Double trouble in the 8:57
I spotted on the forums that the owners of Senkinah (20/1) and Daisie(62/1) are both confident of strong runs from their horses despite the long odds. Its worth remembering that both are at full or approaching full fitness. Senkinah has alot left in the tank and is yet to explode onto the Getminted scene. Owners Van Verden are confident tonight could be a turning point. As for Daisie the odds have left owner big del wondering what the bookies were smoking before coming up with 62/1. Daisie won her last race on firm in exactly the same conditions and at the same track. Both worth an each way flutter.

Rampant hampster to answer critics

This experienced 6 year old colt has brought smiles everywhere he's gone. At 48/1 though many wonder if the hampster's best days are behind him. Like Roy Keane he can't go on forever! In 60 runs he's won 13 times and has been placed in 23. Won last time out on good going back on the 14th of December, so well rested and eager to go. The odds for Rampant Hampster tonight are 48/1 so watch out for this one.

Christmas present proving a hit for Karl!

I'm sure Karl of the Catlikething stable will be happy with his Christmas eve purchase named 'Mini Menace'. While the 2 year old fillie has only shown off her wares once so far she's impressed finishing 2nd out of a full field of 14 in the USA.

Running on fast today of course so will be very different from her first and only race on muddy on the 3rd of January. Well rested and at 30/1 I really think she has a shot at a place in this inexperiecned field.

Entablar Fire to reignite in the 9:12
This fine prospect finished back in 6th in her last race at the tail end of 2005. It says alot about the 2 year old fillie that this was her worst performance to date. Up to then Entablar Fire had won once and been placed 6 times in 7 races. I expect her at good odds of 15/2 to return to the right end of the field in the 9:12 race this evening. Usually runs over 2 miles but trying her luck over a slightly shorter distance this evening. A win is not out of the question but a placed finish is more likely.

Bellamy Stables will be keeping their fingers crossed for 'The Contender'.
At 20/1 I believe this could well be the best each way bet of the night. 'The Contender' has an excellent history on fast going and though she has only raced 12 times she showed great maturity to win on fast on the 24th of November in Dubai destroying a full field. All together she has raced in 12, won 3 and been placed in 5. If she was a footballer she'd be Craig Bellamy himself, great potential but tempremental! Still watch this one impress tonight.

Poor run from White Tsunami last night shoots his odds out to 16/1.

It all went wrong for White Tsunami last night. The stage had been set for yet another win but the expectant virtual crowd in England were left wondering just what went wrong as the namiko trained veteran finished 12th out of 14. The big factor last night was the weight, 131 lbs slowed the 7 year old down, that won't be the case in the 9:12 race tonight.

His record is far from being the best on Getminted but still he's won 16 times and been placed in 53 of his 136 runs to date. Before the last race he had been on an excellent four race run which included a fine win in Australia. At these odds 16/1 I think White Tsunami could suprise and nick a place.

The Sphinx to make it win number 1372 for Dallas1???????
What a stable, every time I look at the stats I need to lean on something in case I fall over, 7,924 runs, 1,371 wins and 3120 places, fantastic. Thats why I was suprised to see 'The Sphinx' given odds of 24/1 for the 9:24 race. In her brief career to date she has always delivered for Dallas. 5 runs, 2 wins and 3 placed finishes aint half bad. Her very first race was on the same track and over the same going and distance as tonights though the marked improvemnet in quality may produce a different result. The Sphinx won back in that first race and hasn't looked back since. A placed finish highly probable this evening.

Millenium Royale may be good enough to finish in the places in the 9:48
This 3 year old colt always fares well on muddy going and I'm sure Paul will been quitely confident of a good showing. In 19 races to date 'Millenium Royale' has entered the winner's enclosure 4 times and has been placed in 9. Won last time out on Boxing Day (or St. Stephen's Day if you're in Ireland)on muddy going in the USA so fitness levels should be high this evening. Worth a flutter at great odds of 26/1. Fancy him to nail a place.

Canadian horse comes home to roost in the 8:48 race

Back to the rockies for Flying Too in the 8:48 race tonight. At 6/1 the 3 year old fille should fare well. She won last time out on fast back before Christmas on the 21st of December. In 10 runs she has won in 3 and been placed in 4, an excellent start to her career. Owned by the Skip stable she should go close with an each way flutter advisable.

Wonderful Graham, hung like a horse!!!!!
No I'm not blowing my own trumpet, I'm describing the 16/1 shot in the 8:36 race this evening. Heysie stable's little beaty adores televised races. Even if in a poor run of form he always steps up to the plate when on the small screen. Originally from the dallas1 stable he has won only twice but been placed in 8 of his 19 runs to date. Last win came back on the 16th of November down under. The best hope tonight is a placed finish at these nice odds.

Sallytraffic still one to watch despite being low on gas!

I backed sallytraffic on friday and boy did she deliver winning in style. However 3 wins in the last 5 surely sees her carrying a hefty weight handicap into this race. Also fitness levels may be low. Her last race being just two nights ago. Still a great horse from the Bryan 1969 stable the 3 year old has won 9 and been placed in 10 of her 27 races to date. Odds of 38/1 for sallytraffic in the 8:57, a placed finish very possible.

Rammy's lad to shock all at trackside down under!

Massive odds of 48/1 for Rammys lad this evening in the 9:12 race but Ive seen enough to make me think the 2 year old fillie from the rammy85 stable has half a chance. 3 runs, 1 win and 2 placed finishes says it all in what is honestly an average field. A small wager for a placed finish here might go a long way!

Konstantine, the placed finish specialist comes into the race in consistent form. In 5 runs to date over a combination of goings the slowstables horse has been placed each time. At 6/1 you may think the first win would be on the cards but an each way flutter on her in the 9:12 may reap a better dividend.

A horse who ceratinly won't lose her way in the 9:36 race from the USA is Sally Traffic even if the horses do run on the other side of the track! In 26 runs this fantastic fillie from the Bryan1969 stable has clinched 8 wins and 10 placed finishes. Last time out on muddy she finished second narrowly beaten in Canada two days ago. Odds of 9/2 are about right as she has been very busy of late.

Please be standing for his royal highness, The King of Norway!

I must say I do enjoy the King Of Norway Stable. He joined us on the 28th of September and has made many friends on getminted! Then again when you're a royal its hard to know who your real friends are! With 171 runs under the gold studded belt the King Of Norway stables are settling in, 10 wins and 50 placed finishes with the top horse being Imperial Kancha. Best of luck to you King and I'm sure you will approve of the quick history lesson below....

An Introduction to Norway
Two centuries of Viking raids into Europe tapered off following the adoption of Christianity by King Olav TRYGGVASON in 994. Conversion of the Norwegian kingdom occurred over the next several decades. In 1397, Norway was absorbed into a union with Denmark that was to last for more than four centuries. In 1814, Norwegians resisted the cession of their country to Sweden and adopted a new constitution. Sweden then invaded Norway but agreed to let Norway keep its constitution in return for accepting the union under a Swedish king. Rising nationalism throughout the 19th century led to a 1905 referendum granting Norway independence. Norway remained neutral in World War I and proclaimed its neutrality at the outset of World War II. Nevertheless, it was not able to avoid a five-year occupation by Nazi Germany (1940-45). In 1949, neutrality was abandoned and Norway became a member of NATO. Discovery of oil and gas in adjacent waters in the late 1960s boosted Norway's economic fortunes. The current focus is on containing spending on the extensive welfare system and planning for the time when petroleum reserves are depleted. In referenda held in 1972 and 1994, Norway rejected joining the EU.

Yellow background, Red lightening, it has to be Claire78!

I wonder what the big difference is between male owners and female owners? (apart from the obvious!) You see I think the female owners exercise more caution and therefore often have better statistics! Take the 'Claire78' stable for example. In 529 runs to date the stable has won 53 times and been placed in 152. So that means in at least 2 out of 5 races the horses bring home a return, not bad atall.

Claire joined us on the 10th of April with the top horse in the stable being Slowly Unwinding with a wonderful 11 wins. The stable has grown steadily over the year with 22 horses now ready to head for that 100 wins mark. Claire resembles a shrewd football manager picking up good horses at good prices, Threeputted 18th, Slowly Unwinding, Chanteloup and Code Silver all making to way to Claire's from other stables.

Claire's attitude to training and being an owner are top notch. She gets on with her work without any fuss and fanfair and we here at Getminted were delighted to see you pass the 50 win mark Claire. Hope the 100 wins isn't too far away and the very best of luck for 2006.

Try pronouncing this after a few beers!

Yes a bit of a tongue twister here but all the same the name 'Vrykolakas' could roll off that same tongue if he continues his decent form. In two runs to date the two year old colt has won once and been placed once. His odds of 15/1 for the 8:24 race from the USA seem careless as he hasn't run since last Sunday and as a two year old should be fighting fit.

That one win came in his last race in the UK. In a full field of 14 he won with the ease of a champion. Abaddon have a good horse here and he should go close tonight.

Gonna Catch you can frighten the others into submission in the 8:36
Superb name for a horse. This 2 year old fillie must be a little confused. Owners WWS ran her in her first race back on the 29th of December. Despite the pressure of a maiden race and in a full field of 14 'Gonna Catch You' won in style, champagne all round! or so you would think the WWS stable doen't like their virtual horses to get too cocky so she was entered in a claimer for her next race! Mind you she won that as well so could tonight be the hatrick? At 12/1 she ceratinly has a chance but in a strong field at this grade perhaps a placed finish is more likley.

Swindon Girl to give us a good time!
Whoops I better be careful! I'm already in trouble after last night's show! Anyway 'Swindon Girl' from the Robins stable has certainly taken the eye so far. In 4 runs the 2 year old fille has won twice and been placed once. Last time out she clinched victory on this very track in identical conditions. The bookies have given her odds of 14/1 which aint half bad. This girl could give you a weekend to remember...if she wins.!

Last night's Getminted

I see on the forums today that one or two of you thought we crossed the line slightly on last night's Getminted show. We apologize if we caused offence but this really wasn't our objective. It's the age old problem- you can only please some of the people some of the time. We do assume that the overwhelming majority of our viewers are mature adults who like a laugh be it raunchy or not and so after the watershed a level of mischief creeps in!

I do agree though that this should be kept on the right side of the line. Thank you for your comments. However I would suggest you take what we say with a pinch of salt as we like you are trying to create fun and interaction.

Tasty odds for colt in fine form!

If this was real racing every trainer in the country would want to get their hands on 'Swinging the lead'. The 3 year old colt has shown some exciting potential and has won 3 of his 6 races to date. Along the way the Efisio trained colt has also picked up a placed finish and should go close in the 8:24 race from Dubai.

He usually runs on the soft and muddy going so it'll be interesting to see how the 24/1 shot fares on the fast going. Quality should prevail and I think the odds are steep. An each way punt may deliver some new year's joy! Find out how he get on tonight on Getminted Racing hosted by Graham Clifford and Gabe Turner - SKY CHANNEL 279 Between 8 and 10pm

RR Delight must fancy his chances in the 9:48
When this boy is on his game he's one of the toughest virtual competitors around. However when he's not, your grandmother would beat him on one leg and blind folded. In his 27 runs so far he's only won 4 times but has been placed in 7. Still this record isn't good enough. That said I do think 15/2 are good odds for RR Delight and he should have a chance of a placed finish this evening.

Outsider to land a place an outlandish odds!

I would like to hear from Namiko stables about this fillie. If you are reading this guys can you post something on the forum for my attention, if not can someone tell them I'm enquiring as to what they think of 'Deadly Angel' who is coming in at odds of 58/1 in the last televised race of the night. You see I think this horse is far better than the odds suggest. As well as this its the first run of 2006 for the 5 year old fillie. In 87 runs to date she's won 11 times and been placed in 27 races. Tonight a placed finish is within this solid performer's capabilities.

Ken Allen's youngster could do well in Getminted League qualifier at 9:55.

It's the last race of the night and experience is limited. Ken Allen's 'Exemplo Ducemus' however looks like real value at odds of 12/1. In the horse's 3 races to date, it has fared best on this distance and many punters will use that as the main reason for optimism.

The statistics now read 3 races, 1 win and 2 placed finishes. That win came on the 22nd of December on muddy going in the USA. Tonight's encounter at 9:55 will be the first time the horse has run on this going and indeed on this track. However at 12/1 it's worth an each way flutter.

Can't believe it, I'm backing Goodison Spark!
Yes Nolan if you are reading this it's true. The Liverpudlian Graham backing 'Goodison Spark' in the 9:36! Last night I backed Man Unt to run well and look where that got me! This Boyle1972 trained horse has registered 5 wins from 18 runs to date as well as picking up 9 placed finishes along the way. Healthy odds of 10/1 seems generous as Goodison Spark won on firm on the 24th of November in the UK. Will run well and could even win.

Superb odds for the new blood from Pipey's yard

Theres no doubt about it, 15/2 are real bargain odds for 'Pipey's reich' in the 9:24 race from Hong Kong. Though the 2 year old fillie has only run twice before shes already shown signs that she means business. Her first run came on the 27th of December when she finished 3rd out of 14 on good going on this track. She hasn't been out since last friday when she placed in England so an each way punt could be the way to go here.

Don’t underestimate ‘Everybody’s fool’, he could quickly turn into everybody’s winning lottery ticket!

Very quickly before I look at ‘everybody’s fool’ in the 9:55 race I want to say well done to Master of Dome from the Bondage Babe stable for clinching second place in the 8:57 last night as predicted on this site, at odds of 10/1 I’m sure it put a smile on many a face. Anyway bigboysteve is putting out ‘Everybody’s fool’ in his 33rd race tonight. To be fair its been an impressive career with a 24% win to run ratio in all competitive races.

The statistics show 3 wins in the last 5 races but 2 of those came in claiming races. However that said the 5 year old colt is still in impressive form and at 34/1 must be worth an each way flutter. Best of luck to all punters and owners alike!

Storm Kiah in lethal form but will fitness hold up?

January 3rd, 2006
I rubbed my hands in glee at 10 this morning when I saw the odds for Storm Kiah, the 3 year old fillie from the ADM Racing stable. At 30/1 I really think this girl has a chance to create havoc though the only worry is fitness. She ran two days ago in Canada winning over the very short distance of 5 furlongs on muddy going. Storm Kiah’s greatest days have come on muddy and 4 of the 5 wins in her career have come on this going. In the 9:12 tonight she should do well even if fitness levels aren’t top notch. Expect a placed finish.

Never thought I’d be backing Man Utd!
January 3rd, 2006
I thought long and hard before backing this one in the 8:36 race from the USA. As a Liverpool fan backing Man Unt in any guise is a crime worthy of public humiliation but this horse just looks too good in this race! ‘Man Utd’ from the ferdefer stable has raced only on 7 occasions so far but has already shown enough to make it a fine virtual horse. In those 7 runs the 3 year old grey colt won once but was placed on 4 trips. That win came on muddy back on the 19th of December and its a going this horse likes. A specialist over this distance his odds of 9/2 seem very generous indeed. A win may be on the cards here.

Rumours suggest Western Australian Rolf Harris may paint this Sir Charles trained horse or perhaps even the owner himself. Fresh from making the Queen look human through art he now has his sights set on the 2 year old fillie with the 100% place to run ratio.

She has only raced twice to date but was unlucky in her first race down in Australia to finish second in a full field of 14, at one stage victory looked like a strong possibility. Odds for Regal Calypso stand at 14/1, a great price. However she has never raced on yielding going before. Still good enough for an each way flutter.

Bondage Babe new boy to stir up trouble in the 8:57
January 2nd, 2006
On the 30th of December I witnessed Flash Dance at odds of 70/1 win for the Bondage Babe stable so I always look out for Dawn’s horses. The latest to impress from the stable is ‘Master of Dome’. Despite having run just once to date he’s impressed finishing second in a full field of fourteen in Hong Kong three days ago. Indeed only half a length seperated first from second in that grade 2 race. Its a step up in class for this one this evening but something tells me the 10/1 shot can go close.

My Little Chloe to add to impressive stats on yielding in England
January 2nd, 2006
The stats for this 2 year old fillie speak for themselves. In four runs to date since being bought on the 1st of December she has picked up 2 wins and a placed finish already. The most impressive of those excellent couple of victories came on the 9th of the month when she won over good going in Australia beating a full field. The only concern for the 7/1 shot in the 8:12 race this evening is that she has never raced on yielding or indeed anything really like it preferring to stick to the fast and good going. Never the less ‘ My Little Chloe’ has the class and ability to at least land a placed finish you feel.
