Another horse does the business at a long price

Fair play to Flash Filly, after a run of average performances she came good last night being placed at 20/1. Hopefully you took my advice and had a small flutter on her at these excellent odds.

Man of honour - 8:24 - 22/1

Confidence is high after Man of honour's last win on the 20th of June. It was only the 6 year's old colt's 9th win in a lengthy career but it reminded us once again why this horse is widely regarded as a handy performer. In 72 runs so far he's emerged victorious in 9 and been placed in 25 earning £586 along the way. Muddy hasn't traditionally been this old boys favoured going but improved runs since moving to the bonkonbill stable has renewed confidence in his abilities. In a small field he has a strong chance of nailing a place and is a healthy each way outsider.

Super fast Sarah - 8:57 - 24/1

I only spoke to Sarah once when presenting on Getminted but it was a real pleasure! Almost as much of a pleasure as watching this 3 year old fillie named after her running! In 93 starts she's pulled in £472 in winnings (18 wins/36 places). A versatile campaigner she won in style on the 24th of June in Hong Kong and will hope to repeat the performance in Dubai tonight. Good value at 24/1 and worth considering for a placed finish.

Flash filly - 9:36 - 20/1

Her career so far has been anything but flash however I wouldnt write off this 2 year old fillie just yet. Struggling to gain any serious level of consistency the Sirlad trained youngster recorded a morale boosting win in a claimer last time out yesterday. Granted in was in a field of three and the other two horses are still running but still a wins a win in anymans language! May get a place but if not she may be on her way out if the stable, hopefully the gun will have its safety latch on if she doesnt perform. Worth a small flutter.

Longshot finishes in the places to tipster's joy!

Another good night for the blogspot last night as the 32/1 shot 'it's herself' ran a superb race to finish in third to the sheer delight of all those who backed the 4 year old fillie for success. If you followed all three tips last night you would also have earned something on the 15/2 Covert Action who was also placed though many, myself included, expected her to win. Still more money to buy World Cup pints!

For all tonight's top Getminted Rcaing tips, please click on read more...

Divine Gift - 8:24 - 17/2

On a good day this 5 year old fillie is unstoppable but frustratingly those good days seem to occur less and less now. Vastly experienced she has been out 106 times winning in just 13 but being placed in 40. Career earnings for Divine Gift stand at £1,650 and it's not suprising that she has been sold for big amounts in the past. On the 22nd of May last year Dallas1 paid £675 for her from the Diablo racing stable. Then at the start of last month derekw10 forked out £312 to bring her to his yard. Has been troubled by weight recently but if she runs in this race like she did in her last two days ago in the USA when she finished second then she'll do well. A good each way chance.

Check the meaning - 8:48 - 36/1

The last time this 3 year old colt ran in Dubai he won with ease.Granted that victory on the 7th of June was in a claimimg race but still this boy will feel confident at the track. In 40 competitive races Check the meaning has crossed the finishing line first in 6 and has been placed in 17. Unlike alot of the other horses in this race the morse049 trained colt has experience of A and B division races and could suprise with a strong finish.

Zorros Sorrow - 9:48 - 44/1

If this one comes in then I'm straight down the travel agents! The 9:48 race in Canada marks a massive step up in class for this rodhes trained 3 year old fillie.Faring well in novice, progess and C division races its now time to play for serious money. In 8 outings in the lower grades Zorros Sorrow has taken the eye winning in 4 and being placed in the other 4 though she has never been involved in a race with a field of more than 3 other horses and so many of the 'placed' stats are misleading. Still if things go her way and she keepd her head down a placed finish is a possibility at these big odds.

The times they are a changin!

Exciting times ahead folks as Raceclubs/Getminted are revamping the site:

Members have suggested numerous enhancements to the game. Thank you for these suggestions. Methods to improve race programming and more efficient stable management, that saves time, have been the dominant suggestions.

Your valuable input has driven the development team to put in many hours of hard work over the last few months in designing, programming and testing various new features.

There will be one humongous upload on Wednesday 5 July. Some downtime is expected on the day for which we will provide more detail closer to the time.

Your new stable page will look quite different. The navigation bar on the right hand side will be gone, but you will be able to access these functions through icons at the top of every page. So, there will be no more seeing your account balance before viewing your recent races. The functions include ‘My Basket’, ‘Your Credit Balance’, the current ‘Conditions’, the page ‘Help’ items, a ‘Legend’ and site ‘Search’.

For full inpho see the news link on the Getminted racing homepage.

It's herself - 8:12 - 32/1

Massive odds here for a fine horse who has proved in the past that she likes the soft going. In a relatively small field of 9 Dallas1 will fancy his 4 year old's chances here. In 71 races this experienced fillie has recorded victories 14 times and has been placed in 31 starts. Recent form has dipped slightly but she should be good enough to challenge tonight. A solid each way chance.

Covert Action - 8:57 - 15/2

Its not always easy to predict the winners of novice races as they're so often previously untested. However in Covert Action owners Efisio seem to have picked up a handy colt who should earn his keep in the yard. Has only been out three times so far picking up two second place finishes (though one was in a claimer). Seems to be comfortable over soft going so yielding shouldn't be too much of a problem for him. Could well pick up his first career win in this race against very average competition.

Pennekamp (USA) - 9:12 - 22/1

Up to now theres been as much confidence in this horse as there was in the Swiss strikers last night in the World Cup! Poor old Pennekamp was entered in 5 consecutive claimers after poor runs in 4 competitive runs but his impressive upturn in form may have forced a rethink for the owners TR Racing. The 2 year old colt won two of the claiming races and was placed in the other three which makes me believe he could have a good chance of claiming a place in the 9:12 from Hon Kong.

Can England do it?

So the English are one step away from a quarter final meeting with either Holland or Portugal but firstly they have to overcome Ecuador in Stuttgart. Sven starts with his fourth different starting line up since the games began and doesn't seem to know whos best to play at right back and introduces Michael Carrick in a very defensive cautious move. England should be good enough to defeat the South American minnows but I fear this will be the last win Sven will get to celebrate as English manager. Enjoy the game where ever you're watching it.

Well done to Maltese Flagship you finished second at 11/1 as predicted on yesterday's blogsite. He's a fantastic prospect and certainly a star of the future.

Doofy Doo - 8:36 - 20/1

In strong consistent form this 4 year old grey colt Doofy Doo has won once and been placed in three of his last five races.Has only been out three times in the month of June and registered a fine win on good going in Hong Kong in a special allowance race for 4 to 7 year old colts and fillies on the 12th of June. Inconsistent form on yielding but total stats reveal he's won in 6 and been placed in 19 of his 48 races so far. Good each way chance.

Midnight Sonata - 9:36 - 12/1

This colt is a quick learner and already after just a month and a half he's earned £231 for the Dallas1 stable. In 24 races he's won in 5 and been placed in 13 with recent form being very strong. Rarely runs on firm going as he'll face tonight. Last time out on this going he finished 6th out of 14 but that was back on the 24th of May, just over a month later and he's learned alot since then and should do well this evening.

Serenity Whisper - 9:55 - 22/1

This 2 year old fillie certainly lives life in the fast lane. She normally races over fast going and has tasted victory 5 times in a short 26 race career. Originally bought by Tipperary Bloodstock she was sold to Dallas1 for £45 who in turn sold her on to derekw10 for a massive £340. Thats how good the top owners rate her.Tonight she comes into this race on the back of three placed finishes. She hasn't had a win now in three weeks but if things go her way should could run much better than tonight's odds suggest.

Diane Hall - Just who the hell is she?

She's one of the most controversial personalities on Getminted and most owners would rather their horses ran riderless than have Diane Hall at the helm, but just who is she and where does she come from????!!!

Did you know the original name of Actress and film maker Diane Keaton who starred in films such as Annie Hall, The First wives club, Father of the bride and Something's gotta give is Diane Hall - I kid you not!

And also it seems she has a male friend! See this from the New York Times:

Diane Hall Plans To Marry Oct. 22
Published: September 4, 1988

The engagement of Diane Elizabeth Hall to Henry Walter Juan 3d, a son of Dr. and Mrs. Juan Jr. of Greenwich, Conn., has been announced by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bennett Hall Jr. of Greenwich, the parents of the bride-to-be.

An Oct. 22 wedding is planned by Miss Hall, the women's buyer for Miltons, a chain of clothing stores in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and her fiance, a vice president in corporate finance at the Bankers Trust Company in New York.

The future bride graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich and Rollins College. She was presented in New York at the 51st Debutante Assembly and New Year's Ball. Her father is the president of Connecticut Magazine and Houston Metropolitan Magazine.

Not exactly the background of most jockeys!

Andes Dilemma wins in sensational style at a massive 20/1!

Yes indeed and I hope you followed yesterday's tip because at 20/1 this 2 year old colt from the Diablo racing stable will have given you the best possible start to the weekend. And if you happen to be from Ecuador it may just get that bit better tomorrow evening in Stuttgart!

For all tonight's top Getminted racing tips please click on read more....

Baycityrolla - 8:12 - 7/1

Well on his last run out on yielding this 2 year old grey colt was disappointing but in fairness that has been his only blip in a good start to his career. Also he adores the Australian track, winning once and finishing second in the other two of his three races down under. The King of Norway trained boy has only been out twice in June so he will be well rested and I fancy him for an each way punt.

Storm Kiah - 8:36 - 38/1

Could this provide the best each way flutter of the night? Perhaps so. At 38/1 ADM's 4 year old fillie has a wonderful chance of finishing in the places despite her lofty odds. In 55 races she has won 8 times and has been placed in 18 with recent form on a definate upward curve. Nine days ago in Canada Storm Kiah won in style on fast going and followed it up with a second place finish on the same track two days later all be it in a small field of 3. Weighing a nice 96 lbs for this race I expect her to run well and should could easily upset the applecart tonight.

Maltese Flagship - 9:12 - 11/1

The Deduson stable don't keep nags and so its no suprise that Maltese Flagship is yet another horse shining for the yard. In sensational form of late the 2 year old colt is aiming to complete a hatrick of wins tonight after two great back-to-back wins over the last week. With 8 wins and 12 placed finishes in his 35 runs so far this black beauty has had a bright couple of months finding his feet on Getminted and is tipped by some of the top owners in the game to go far. Won when last out on good going on the 12th of June and should have no problem making waves tonight. Could win, should place.

A wonderful weekend of racing and football action ahead

Quito in Ecuador, South America, is said to have the most pleasant climate in the world. It is called the 'Land of Eternal Spring.' The temperature rarely drops below 46 degrees Fahrenheit during the night, or exceed 72 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. But how pleaseant will it be on Sunday night???!!!!

Silver Eclipse - 8:24 - 9/1

In a field of 8 a horse like Silver Eclipse is well worth a gamble. The 4 year old fillie from the Muggins Racing stable has been struggling with weight difficulties in recent weeks but in this level weight race this evening could get back to winning ways. In 65 races to date she has pulled off 19 wins and 20 placed finishes and has collected almost £1,500 in prize money thus far. Has a varied record on muddy going but if she runs well should finish in the top three.

Andes Dilemma - 9:12 - 20/1

With one win and four placed finishes from his six runs so far this 2 year old colt seems to be getting the hang of getminted racing. Was entered in a claimer last time out in Canada and did well to finish 2nd just a third of a length behind the winner. Strong and consistent he could do well at 20/1 and add to the £60 he has already raked in for the Diablo racing stable.

Toxic Speed - 9:24 - 17/2

What brilliant odds for a third favourite. After running in a Level weight race for 2 year old fillies Toxic Speed is back in a race more suited to her ability. With only one win and one placed finish in nine starts this youngster better start pulling in some results or she could be on her way out of the Efisio stable. Tonight may be the night the Toxic speed lives up to her name. I fancy her for a placed finish.

Worrying times for the Czechs! while the champagne is on ice in Accra!

Be honest, how many of you have money on the Czech Republic to win the World Cup? At the moment the side at 1-0 down to Italy while wonderful Ghana are 1-0 up against the USA, if the results stay the same then the Czechs are out! Again Music Girl has a large bet down that teh Czechs will win so lets keep our fingers crossed for him.

Another nice result for the tipping page last night as Spanish Invader placed at 11/1.

Please tell your friends to keep an eye daily on this blogspot for tips and news about a revived Getminted racing TV show.

This Coversation - 8:12 - 7/1

In a great run of form this slowstables 2 year old has earned £300 in just a month and a half. The stats make for impressive reading too with 30 runs, 10 wins and 15 placed finishes. The only concern here is that This conversation has been very busy in June and fitness and weight levels will have taken a bashing. Still at 7/1 this senssational newcomer is well worth an each way punt.

The sexy sect - 9:12 - 9/1

So far so good for the sexy sect, what a name! In two races the grey colt has picked up a win and a place with the last result standing out. In a field of 14 the 2 year old romped home in deadly style on muddy in Dubai. Trainer madhorse has opted for a shorter distance tonight which could be a very wise move. A win here is not out of the question but a placed finish is more likely.

Good to torque - 9:36 - 17/2

In a field of such average quality Christmas stable's 'Good to torque' will fancy her chances. Amazingly this is the 2 year old's second run on fast going in 23 runs! Still even if this isn't her fancied ground she should still have enough in the tank to cause a stir. Total stats read 22 runs, 4 wins and 11 placed finishes. I expect one of these stats to go up but which one will it be, you decide!

Sven pays the price for bringing only 4 strikers to Germany! Ah well, theres always the horses to keep us entertained!

After last night I'm sure even the most blindly optimistic of England fans feels this World Cup adventure won't last too long! How can a side with so much exciting individual talent perform so poorly? If you turned down the overly upbeat commentary on the television and avoided the tabloids you'd clearly see England are average at best and fodder for the Argentinas, brazils and Hollands of this World Cup. But why is this so? With the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Joe Cole, Beckham, Terry, Ferdinand and a fit again Rooney the side should be flying high. The reason for their lacklustre group performances lies squarely at the hands of Sven. And now with Michael Owen out he has just three strikers to choose from. Rooney could get injured at any second, Crouch is a long ball man and walcott is in truth too inexperienced to make any impact against the top defenders in the World. I'm sure Darren Bent and Jermaine Defoe are sitting at home saying 'I told you so'.

On the forums though theres a lot of optimism from the likes of heinz, cotton racing, The Clan, Oakydokey, ADM Racing! Im afraid I agree with Wigs7, the English will be home from Germany sooner rather than later!!! Then again maybe I'm a bit bitter as the Republic of Ireland side are sitting at home watching all of this on tele!

Also spare a thought for the Music girl stable. MG put the months wages (£1,600) on an England win at 11/8! ouchhhh!

On the tipping front, we had a good result last night when Black Llama finished in third at 13/1. Well done slowstables, once again your horses don't live up to the stable name!

Spanish Invader - 8:12 - 11/1

Theres certainly a mountain to climb for Spanish Invader in this Level weight race but I've a feeling the 2 year old grey colt from the La Catira stable can handle it. In good form recently he's won one and been placed in two of his last five races. Won in style on the 15th of June on Yielding going in Hong Kong and confidence will be high ahead of the 8:12 race in Canada this evening. Total stats read 15 runs, 4 wins and 5 placed finishes. Mixing it with the big boys now but should be strong enough to secure a placed finish.

Alice - 8:36 - 22/1

Nothing gets in the way of victory for Alice as recent stats show. Despite carrying a top weight of 140 lbs in many of her latest races she's won with ease!In lightening hot form the 7 year old fillie from the Clan stable has picked up 3 wins in her last 5 races and the purchase price paid of £42 for her at the start of this year seems like a bargain. In 145 races the old girl has won 27 times and has been placed in 58 bringing earnings to £2,688. On her favoured fast going tonight, she likes this trip and at these odds could go close.

Killer Kancha - 9:55 - 22/1

When you see the word 'kancha' in a horse's name your eyes automically veer towards it! This 2 year old colt from the fantastic Ken Allan's stable has started her career brightly and I'm suprsied by these long odds for the 9:55 race in Dubai. In 7 starts the bright bay coloured entry already picked up two high profile wins as well as three placed finishes. Came 2nd on muddy two days ago at a light weight in Dubai and will be aiming to go one better tonight but I'd be happy with a placed finish.

Stylish win by our tip TSIN Belle! Hopefully we'll get another victory today at Ascot!

Well I'm keeping my Ascot bets close to my chest for the time being but isn't it great to see the Royal event returning to Berkshire. On the virtual getminted racefront we had a fine winner last night when the strong TSIN Belle made it win number 6 in the 8:12 race. The stable TSIN have now amassed winnings of almost £7,000 in just 10 months and based on last nights fine run by their star fillie you can see why.

For all tonight's top getminted tips please click on read more.....oh and come on Sweden!!!!!!

Emma Louise W - 8:48 - 15/2

After three failed attempts on fast going this 2 year old grey fillie from the DVDMAN1 stable eventually found a win last time out 5 days ago.In a field of nine in Australia she eventually found that strong finishing kick to see off all challengers in a maiden juvenille race. Tonight the competition will be harder but Emma Louise W will be buoyed by that win and should finish in the places at the very least.

Scugnizzo - 8:57 - 22/1

Granted theres a significant difference between maiden races and progress ones for juvenilles but I expect Scugnizzo in the colours of the bettissimo.com stable to make a smooth transition. In 3 races so far the 2 year old colt has notched up one win and two placed finishes and impressed especially in his win on the 29th of May. Has only been out once since then, that was in a claimer on the 11th of June so he's well rested and fitness levels will be high. A placed finish is highly possible.

Black Llama - 9:48 - 13/1

What a fantastic name for a horse. The slowstables were quickest off the mark to pick this 2 year old black beauty up in a claimer. When you consider Black Llama has only been out in five races but has earned £73 already you can clearly see his fantastic potential. Indeed he is aiming to make it three back to back wins tonight after two great victories on fast in Dubai and the USA respectively. A superb versatile prospect a placed finish is well within his abilities at these long odds.

TSIN Belle - 8:12 - 9/2

Resumes racing after a much needed 3 day rest. The 2 year old fillie from the Stable TSIN has been very busy this month with her last race resulting in a win on fast in Canada. A steady performer who adores racing she has won 5 and been placed in 12 of her 26 races so far with most of this success coming on fast going. The owners will be delighted with how shes started for the stable with earnings of £310 in just under 2 months. Worth an each way flutter with a win very possible.

One on the way - 8:36 - 9/2

With a 30% win to run ratio and a 30% place to run ratio you just know this horse means business. In 27 starts One on the way has found the winning line 8 times and has been placed in 8 also.Trained by the dodsy the agent stable the 3 year old colt had a poor run last time out 2 days ago when he finished 11th out of 14 in Australia but crucially he was running off a light weight which didn't suit him. Back up to 121 lbs tonight he should run well and like my first tip TSIN Belle he is capable of picking up a win.

Check the meaning - 8:57 - 11/1

Erratic would probably sum up this horse best on getminted, when he's good he's fantastic but when he's poor he really lets the owner down. The 3 year old colt out of the morse049 stable has been entered in many different category races recently with many wondering if he's soon to find himself on the transfer list! While muddy is Check the meaning's favoured going he has had some excellent days on fast in the past and the signs suggest he could be good enough to suprise in the 8:57 in the USA. I wouldn't be suprised to see him give an exhibition in running and take the win but each way is certainly the safer option.

Glorious Ghana show us how to do it unlike last night's race tips!

I visited Ghana last year and you could just sense the anticipation in the country before this their first ever World Cup appearence. I was overjoyed to see them win yesterday and as a neutral I'd love to see them go all the way but obviously theres more chance of me picking three winners on an evening! Anyway I hope your weekend is going very well both on and off the track.

For all tonight's top getminted tips please click on read more....

Superb star - 8:24 - 11/1

Well you'd have to fancy this Top star stable trained colt given his recent run on muddy going. The 3 year old has won 3 of his last 4 races on this going and is certain to run well this evening in this level weight contest. In 38 races so far Superb star has accumulated 10 wins and 13 placed finishes and I fancy him to add to one of those stats in the 8:24 in Canada if he can handle whats sure to be a rapid sprint.

Mollica - 8:36 - 20/1

Theres split opinion on the real quality of Mollica but I think theres huge potential there for the 4 year old fillie. Owners Grazie Varenne tend to race him in small fields. In 26 races he's notched up 6 wins and 17 places but as I said in small fields the statitics are misleading. At 20/1 though Mollica offers good value and you couldn't rule out a placed finish here.

Platinum Express - 9:36 - 42/1

I'm sure alot of you guys will have spotted this colt as a great each way tip as soon as todays line ups were agreed. Amazingly the third favourite in the 9:36 comes in at 22/1 so it shows what an open field it is in terms of each ways. Meat trained Platinum Express may be having an indifferent run of form of late but his record on good going speaks for itself. In 5 career runs on this going, he's won twice and been placed in three so he may add to his winnings of £110 so far and at these odds is an excellent each way tip.

Muggin the spotlight!

Question by Raceclubs/Getminted: What advice would you give to New Raceclubs/Getminted Members?

Answer by “Muggins Racing”: Patience. Far too often I read on the forums people expecting instant success or answers. It takes time. You have to study. You are not just given a degree at university, you have to work hard, and party hard to achieve that. Take the same approach to Getminted racing. Also, pick up good claimers, study and learn. Invest slowly and only what you are willing to lose. Make friends and learn. There are so many people out their willing to help but don't expect them to do it for you.

Muggin's racing stats :
Date Joined: 30 Oct 2005
Top Horse (Earnings): Royal Express - £2,797.20
Top Horse (Wins): Ptolemaic Aspects - 47
Last Stable Win: 17 June 2006 - 08:50

Wins: 353
Places: 1011

Setanic Killer - 8:24 - 48/1

Unless Im very much mistaken the bookies have got it wrong placing Setanic Killer at 48/1. A lover of Muddy going the 5 year old colt has picked up the majority of his 11 career wins on this type of going and if he gets a good start tonight in this 7 furlong sprint in the USA I fancy him to get a placed finish at the very least. With earnings in excess of £500 he has been in good form since the 8th of June winning once and being placed in two other races.A solid each way bet.

hooooolioooooo - 9:12 - 11/1

I'm not joking, this is actually the spelling of this horse from the MackemLad stable! This 2 year old colt has been very impressive so far though he would be a commentator's nightmare! A winner in 5 of his 20 races so far he's also pulled in 9 placed finishes and has progressed strongly since being bought on the 29th of April earning £266 up to now. Hooooolioooooo failed miserbaly in a WFA race for 2 to 7 year old colts on the 8th of June finishing back in 10th on fast going but since then has recorded two highly important wins on fast in C and B division races. He may now be ready to mount an assault at this level and should finish in the top three.

The King is dead - 9:48 - 13/1

Regular viewers to Getminted's live show would have noticed I'm a strong anti-royalist but thats not the reason I'm backing this 3 year old chestnut colt from the sdownie stable!!!! By the way happy 90th birthday to herself, it must be hard being Queen not having to pay tax and living off the state, poor thing!!! Anyway where was I, oh yes, the King is dead! In 33 races this impressive contender has registered 8 wins and 16 placed finishes. Recent form has been strong - he's won 2 of his last 5 races and was placed in 2 others. He was bought on boxing day last year and he'll have to fight hard to make it win number 9 so perhaps another placed finish is more likely.

Now thats how football should be played!

After England's less than impressive display against lowly Trinidad yesterday it was a breath of fresh air to see the brilliant Aregentina in full flow today. I cant remember the last time especially in a major tournament that I saw a side score 6 such brilliant goals in one game. And remember this was against a strong Serbian side that finished ahead of Spain in their qualifying group. For England's sake they should stay well clear of Argentina if they are to have any hope in Germany 2006!

On the racing front we had two decent results last night for the blogspot. Both Mercurial fox (10/1) and Feel the fors (15/2) finished in the places and the latter in particular was unlucky not to have registered a win.

Genuine - 8:12 - 15/1

Never miss a genuine opportunity will be the advice of price racing who send out their 2 year old for his 32nd race on Getminted. Already this grey has been exciting fans of the game with excellent runs and a strong level of consistency. In those 32 starts he's found victory 12 times and has been placed in 13. Has a fantastic record in Level weight races and rarely finishes outside the top three. Won on his last trip out in the UK three days ago and has the potential to win here again tonight, however no one would blame you for opting each way here at overly generous odds.

Gran Turismo - 8:24 - 7/1
It says alot about the confidence Redhalo racing have in this 3 year old colt that they only really enter him in big stake races. Gran Turismo has turned on the style since joining getminted on the 3rd of March this year and in three short months he's notched up £620 in winnings. Total stats for the black sensation stand at 32 runs, 5 wins and 13 placed finishes but in a field of this quality I expect him to run better than the odds suggest. I'm backing him for victory tonight despite the fact that he's been fairly busy in June already.

Morgan Pressel - 9:36 - 11/1

Will it be third time lucky for Morgan Pressel tonight in the 9:36 in England? The Lord Jinxy trained girl has picked up two second placed finishes in her two starts so far and would dearly love to see a win to kick start what they hope will be a fantastic career. Last time out in Australia on good going she finished just half a length behind The Midden in a race which she could have and should have won. The multi-lingual Lord Jinxy won't be short on encouragement for his prize fillie tonight and at 11/1 she offers excellent each way value.

Brave Trinidad to be taught a football lesson tonight!

Yes even I (not shall we say the biggest of England fans!) accept that the gap in class for today's game is vast. While the boys from the Caribbean were excellent in earning a draw against Sweden today's task will be much tougher. However under Sven England have long had a problem with beating the lesser sides of World Football - a 1-0 defeat to Northern Ireland in Windsor Park springs to mind. England should really be brushing Trinidad and Tabago aside today and Sven should ask for nothing less than a 3 goal winning margin.

Mercurial Fox - 8:24 - 10/1

I really like the look of this horse and reckon the Foxy911 stable have a real bright spark on their hands in Mercurial Fox. Picked up his first career win 5 days ago in the UK in a Novice race for juvenille colts and decimated a full field in the process. Total stas read 7 runs, 1 win and 3 placed finishes so the room for improvement is there. Has only run on fast going once before, that was back on the 20th of May when he pulled out a great run to finish third. A great prospect he represents good each way value in this race.

Feel the Fors - 8:48 - 15/2

Well he may be one of the oldest horses on the circuit but one things for sure Feel the Fors still has the magic! As the 7 year old approaches his 2 year anniversary with getminted he's still in flying form winning two of his last three races. While his win to run ratio has never been amazing it's still worth noting he has entered the winners enclosure 18 times and will aim to bring that figure into the 20s before he hangs up the reigns. In good form and not hampered by a weight disadvantage he's worth backing at 15/2 to give the younger a colts a run for their money.

Face Melter - 9:36 - 17/2

You know when you get a feeling that a particular horse will do well eventhough the stats tell you someting else. Well thats kind of how I feel with Face Melter from the Dallas 1 stable. In his one and only race so far the 2 year old colt trailed in 6th, 6 lengths behind Indian Mystic on the 8th of June in Hong Kong. However a week later and the exceptional Dallas1 is trying something totally different. A shorter distance and on muddy going obviously he feels this will bring out the best of his charge and Im not going to argue with a man who has made almost 100 grabnd from the game!

Ganette - 8:12 - 32/1

Well the bookies rarely get it wrong but still 32/1 seems a high price for a horse who has managed to win her last three races. A big step up in class for Ganette here this evening though as she tries her hand at her first ever WFA race. Not afraid to run in big fields this is a confident horse who has in total picked up 3 wins and 4 placed finishes from her 11 runs to date. While I dont believe she'll make it four wins on the trot I do think she'll improve on the £135 already earned for the Menace stable with a place here this evening.

Ready Steady - 9:12 - 9/2

I've heard alot of owners talking about this 2 year old colt from the Pro Ev Racing stable after his first run in Canada on the 26th of May. He won that race in style defeating a full field and a full two weeks later is well rested for the assault this evening back in Canada. That one and only run was over muddy though and it'll be a completely different scenario for Ready Steady tonight as he faces fast going. Still Pro Ev are a fantastic stable and will be confident he can make it back to back victories.

MC Smarties - 9:55 - 8/1

Well I believe this race is made for MC Smarties to do well. Always stong over fast the 2 year old colt is aiming to make it 4 wins from 17 starts to add to his collection of 7 placed finishes. The major chase trained colt has been busy in June running four times and was especially unlucky not to have won on the 4th of June in Dubai when he was just beaten by a late surge by Eklissato. A strong runner he is worth an each way flutter this evening.

Yankeedoodledandy - 8:12 - 66/1

There's no way that 66/1 reflects the chances of this 2 year old fillie in the 8:12 race. Granted she hasn't set the world alight yet but unlike many of the other entrants in this field she's well used to 'Special Allowance' races and if she can finish strongly will mount a serious challenge to embarrass the bookies. In 12 races to date the chestnut coloured 2 year old has recorded victory just the once but has been placed in 4 as well. She was bought on April's fools day but if she can finish in the places at these massive odds owners Derekw10 will put it down as one of his wisest purchases ever!

Unbelieveable - 8:36 - 25/1

This 4 year old colt would fit in well at any stable. He's been bought twice in his career for just £27 each time yet the grey now in the Mr Gump stable has raked in £330 in prize money, not a bad return! However it's been exactly 2 months now since Unbelieveable's last win and this is reflected in the price on offer. In 52 competitive starts this horse has won 8 times and has been placed in 17. He was especially unlucky not to record a 9th win in his last race in the UK on the 27th of last month when he was pipped on the line by Grey Wish. A good reliable campaigner I expect him to finish in the top three.

Setanic Predator - 8:57 - 11/1

The mighty Dallas1 stable send out this exceptional 5 year old with one mission in mind- get that elusive 20th win! Setanic Predator has long lived up to his frightening name scaring the living daylights out of other horses on tracks all over the world. His lightening fast finish has earned him £1,560 in winnings and you can sure theres a lot of running left in him yet. All in all he's been out 109 times, winning in 19 and being placed in 38. The last win came on the 5th of June in the UK. Weight penalties meant his last race was poor but back in a level weight race he should be good enough to mount a serious challenge for top honours.

Shaky start for England, much like last night's tips!

Yes England may be set to top their group after yesterday's results but boy were they unimpressive. Only for the fact that Paraguay offer little threat up front the boys in white could have been upstaged and no one will fear them in the coming rounds unless they dramatically improve. My tip for this year's World Cup Argentina had a good win over the Ivory Coast but they were made work for it every step of the way. Anyway on the racing scene "The Contender" was the only one of last night's tips to run well, the others just weren't at the races.

For all tonight's top Getminted Racing tips please click on read more.....

Ship of Gold - 8:48 - 11/2

This race will certainly tell us just how good this 3 year old colt is. He's never run on fast or anything like it before so hopefully he can handle the going and maybe even pick up his first career win for the Showboat stables. In 4 races to date he was placed in two and was unlucky not to win in his last race two days ago in Australia. A good prospect who could win here tonight and is set to be a good each way tip.

Smallvile - 9:12 -36/1

This Jerky trained 4 year old will be hoping to complete a hatrick of consecutive wins tonight in Dubai. She won her last two races (both on fast going) and if she can complete the three back to back wins it would mean she'd have racked up 6 wins in
23 races. With her birthday being St. Valentine's day she's sure to break the bookies hearts in the 9:12 if she can register a win. Each way punt advisable.

Citizenship - 9:36 - 20/1

In excellent recent form the consistency of this 4 year old fillie is something to behold. Total stats read 86 runs , 13 wins and 41 placed finishes. Comes into this race in the USA on the back of a fine win 3 days ago when she stormed to victory in Australia. A strong horse she's earned £615 since becoming part of getminted on the 5th of November last year. At these odds I'd advise an each way punt but dont be suprised if Citizenship from the Muggins racing stable mounts a late strong charge at the end of the 2 mile distance.

Will Sven be sick as a Par....aguay?!

And so England kick off their World Cup campaign this evening against South American challengers Paraguay. A simple task, I think not although if you read the English media you'd think the side had already won the Cup! Paraguay were impressive in their qualifiers and drew with Argentina away to book their place in Germany. Remember too they've emerged from their groups in both the last two World Cups. An Irish paper I read this morning predicted a draw something unheard of on this side of the Irish sea. However in truth England should be too strong for Paraguay. It'll be interesting to see how and if Gerrard plays and if the English rearguard is as strong as many think it to be. Best of Luck England but don't underestimate the pride of Paraguy.

Also just to keep you updated, my 2 day old daughter Molly came home from hospital this morning and both mother and child are keeping well.

Anyway please click on read more for all today's top Getminted racing tips....

Lara Croft - 8:24 - 13/2

In a field of average quality this 2 year old fillie looks like she may add to the winnings she's already clocked up for the wigs7 stable. In 9 previous outings over a variety of goings shes picked up a win and 5 placed finishes. Crucially that win came on yielding going (same as we have this evening) on this very track in Australia. A bright entertaining horse she may have the goods to win again here though I'd probably advise an each way flutter to be on the safe side.

Prince of Dance - 9:12 - 22/1

If this horse was a footballer he'd be something like Stuart Pearse, not too skillful but fully dedicated and loyal to the core. Prince of dance has worked hard to earn the £334 he's currently made in winnings and tonight goes in search of further reward. Total stats read 42 runs, 6 wins and 20 placed finishes. Hasn't raced for almost a week when he finished in 4th on fast in the USA worryingly in a field of 4! However don't let that result put you off, this is a strong horse and at these good odds is fine value for a placed finish.

The Contender - 9:36 - 13/1

Unlike a number of other horses in this high quality field The Contender has the advantage of a good rest since her last race. The 4 Year old fillie last raced on the 1st of June finishing second in Hong Kong on yielding going. In her 8 month career to date she'd emerged victorious on 7 occasions and has been placed in 10. A solid performer she could go close this evening in this current good run of form.

THE GREATEST WINNER OF THEM ALL!

Well virtual racing has taken a bit of a backseat for me this week and its not because of the World Cup. My partner Catherine gave birth to our first child in the early hours of this morning. A bouncing baby girl who will be called Molly. Just thought I'd share the good news with the Getminted racing community!

Karen's Yard celebrates one year anniversary on Getminted!

I suppose the perfect stage at which to gauge the quality of an owner is after a year on board. Karen's Yard joined us on the 22nd of May 2005 and in the 12 months since has prodcued some excellent horses. The cream of the crop is Grand Voyager. Bought from the racingslim stable for £50 on the 25th of September last year the 5 year old grey fillie continues to impress on the race tracks of the world and has amassed career winnings of almost £300 so far. Other quality contenders to watch out for whose jockeys will be in the black and grey silks ot the owner are I'm a winker, i'm a winker 2 and she8allthepies. Quality horses trained by a quality owner.

Remember if you're an owner and know someone who might be interested in joining Getminted then you can gain free credits for referring a player. All the information needed can be found on the left hand side of the homepage.

Colour me scarlet - 8:12 - 36/1

Gigantic odds here for another handy horse from the Diablo racing stable. In 7 outings so far the 2 year old black fillie has emerged victorious twice and has been placed in 3. Fared well in her only level weight race so far finishing 2nd on the 3rd of June. Granted that was in a small field of 3 but she showed enough potential that day to suggest she can really be one for the future. In her only run on soft going to date Colour me scarlet won in style on the 19th of May in Australia. Has been busy of late but if she can handle fitness concerns then she could be a real quality each way bet.

Angelic Kiss - 9:12 - 9/2

The bookies believe this race is between the joint favourites Bewilderbeast and strawberry jam but I wouldn't be so sure. This 3 year old fillie from the Wazzam stable has been exceptional of late and if we disregard the last result in Hong Kong we see she is a fine virtual animal. Her last win came on the 29th of May when she blitzed past all others to claim victory. That was her 6th win in 23 runs and when you add the 7 placed finishes she's racked up you can see she's one to watch. At this price it may be best to back her for a win though an each way flutter could earn you a few bobb.

Copper Kettle - 9:48 - 12/1

Always the bridesmaid never the bride. Thats the story of Copper Kettle's career thus far. However as we witnessed last night when MC donkey1800 eventually won after 15 races God loves the trier. Trained by the excellent Mickjam stable this 2 year old colt has finished in the places 5 times in his 6 starts. He came closest to victory on the 12th of May when he was pipped on the line by bungy bungelow on muddy in Canada. His day will come and he may register his first win tonight though an each way punt is perhaps the most advisable.

Congratulations Major on a fine win and may the good times continue to roll for your stable! It was also another nice tip coming through for this blogsite so well done if you followed my advice and had something on this 3 year old colt!

Belinda Carlisle - 8:12 - 9/1

I know I backed this queen of the late 80's to success before but sadly she left me down. A reasonably solid performer in the excellent Meat stable she has notched up 4 wins and 11 placed finishes in her 21 runs so far. The last win of her career came on the 28th of May in Canada on fast going and she also has a decent record on good. After the last win trainer Meat was heard to say in the winner's enclosure " They say heaven my fillie comes first, oh getminted is a place on earth!".

MC donkey1800 - 9:36 - 16/1

Well rested and a fan of fast going this 3 year old colt from the Major Chase stable has the potential to run well in this race and hopefully pick up win number 1 of a 15 race career. To be fair he's come desperately close over the past few months to that first elusive win. On the 21st and 30th of April MC donkey1800 missed out on victory by just over half a length both times. While tonight may be his night I think a 7th placed finish is more likely.

The Big Dipper - 9:48 - 10/1

Racing for a trainer with over two year's experience I think the sky's the limit for the Big Dipper in this Novice race in America! It will be the first time the 2 year old has raced so obviously it's a wee bit of a gamble but with resonably cautious odds and a fine trainer behind him I feel he'll do well. Worth a flutter each way.

Crouching Tiger, hidden dragon!

Minutes before yesterday's derby I remembered that I hadn't backed the horse a friend of mine told me to and so had to endure the race hoping he wouldn't get up there to take the victory. I had been given a good tip during the week that Septimus would do it but thankfully on the day Sir Percy did the business for the Martin Dwyer mounted charge. However the real money was surely made on Dragon dancer who finished in second at 66/1 and came so close to snatching a famous derby victory. Also a word for the Aidan O' Brien trained Dylan Thomas who snatched third in one of the most dramatic derbys in years.

Elsewhere Peter Crouch's robotic dance was in full swing again as the Liverpool Giant recorded his first hat-rick for Engalnd against a shockingly poor Jamacia. The 6-0 win looks good on paper but Sven's men won't have as easy an international as this for a long time again. Still - well done England, it's good to have the tails up before the big World Cup opening game against Paraguay.

Grimoire - 8:24 - 16/1

This 4 year old colt from the Abaddon stable has really hit a purple patch of late and eventhough those succeses came in B division races he should still be able to step up a level this evening. With earnings of £260 under his belt Grimoire comes into this race on the back of a fine win on the 28th of May in the USA. With a 58% place to run ratio it seems more likely he'll finish second or third. A real value each way contender.

Smuggler's Cove - 8:57 - 6/1

In a race of this standing it's often important to concentrate on the trainer rather than the horse. The award winning Dallas1 stable send out this 2 year old colt as he goes in search of what would be only his second career win. In 9 starts he's also recorded 7 placed finishes though a couple of these came in races with small fields. Well used to this grade he should run well and could indeed capture victory.

Super Sonic 2 - 9:36 - 18/1

I had to look twice when I saw the odds for this excellent 2 year old colt from the bigboysteve stable. Super Sonic 2 has an excellent collection of stats - in 23 races he's won in 7 (30% win to run ratio) and has notched up 9 placed finishes also. Had a fine win on fast going (which he'll face this evening) on the 26th of May in the USA and at this his favoured distance he should add to the £140 he's already pocketed in prize money. Great each way potential.

Why England won't win the World Cup!

As an impartial Irishman!! I believe the main reason England won't win this year's World Cup is down to one man - good old 'SVEN'! I'm sure the forums will be buzzing with world cup entries over the next few weeks and for the record my tip to lift the coveted trophy is Argentina!

Anyway for the tips that matter click on read more........

Liverpool Captain - 8:12 - 30/1

How could I not back this horse from the excellent Major Chase stable. The choice is not made on sentiment alone though. The 3 year old colt has been in fantastic form of late. Indeed he hasn't finished outside the top 3 since the 16th of April and if he can handle dwindling fitness levels he'll do well tonight. In a rich vain of form he's recorded 3 wins in his last 6 races but interestingly has never tried his hand on yielding going before. An excellent each way option " you'll never walk alone" could be riniging out in a cetain Twickenham household this evening!

gogl fivefour - 8:24 - 15/2

Sometimes entering a horse in a claiming race can kickstart a fine run of results. This 7 year old colt was on a slippery slope just weeks ago but victories in claimers on the 21st and 28th of May have reignited this old colt's frotunes. A winner last time out in a level weight race 3 days ago he looks to be back to his brilliant best and will be a strong candidate to add to his £1,038 in earnings tonight.

Kilmoulis - 9:55 - 20/1

Three races ago this 3 year old colt's chances of winning a race seemed slim at best. However to the credit of owners Abaddon he's turned his losing run around and won two of his last three races, finishing second in the other race. Total stats read 15 runs, 2 wins and 4 placed finishes and he's a solid each way hope in the 9:55 in the UK.

You can't go wrong with a Dallas1!

Yes to borrow a quote from our old friend Ceri this particluar owner has achieved 2055 winners at the time of posting and seems to be getting better all the time. This man adores his horses and is as dedicated an owner as you will see on Getminted/Raceclubs. A loyal owner Dallas1 has been instrumental in developing beneficial changes to the racing format and is an invaluable member of the Getminted racing community. As well as training winners he has also developed a newbies training guide for new owners which can be downloaded on the main getminted racing homepage. The latest star of the stable in Sompting roses who Dallas acquired at the start of this year. A top owner and a true gentleman this man is the King! (See photo section for a picture of Dallas1)

firtiki - 8:24 - 10/1

You won't find any world beaters in this line up but aceface's 2 year old colt is one of the few horses who has enjoyed a good run of form recently. In 7 runs the black destroyer has clocked up two wins (though one of those was in a claimer on the 24th of May). In his only run on muddy he finished in 5th on the 6th of May in a full field of 14 in the USA. He seems to improve with every race and should add to his haul of £27 in earnings tonight. Good chance of winning but I would opt for the safer each way option if I was you.

Rumpelstilskin - 8:36 - 22/1

I have long been a fan of this Abaddon trained colt and when you watch him run you'll see why. Statswise he has recorded 7 wins and 22 placed finished in 39 runs. That place to run ratio stands at a brilliant 56% and he has earned £270 in his race career thus far. Wonderfully consistent he has only finished outside the places once in the last 13 races. At 22/1 he represents amazing value and I've a feeling alot of money will go down on him for a win or place this evening.

Digital Flight - 9:24 - 11/1

Mr majeca doesn't train nags. As an owner he's clocked up 54 wins and 180 placed finishes from his stable's 516 runs so far. Digital Flight looks like the latest in a long line of great horses to grace these stables. Though he's only been out twice he did record a fine win in his first race in a field of 9 in England two weeks ago.An exciting race this and look out for starts of the future.
