First class honours for Strawberry Hill!

The Menace trained 'Strawberry Hill' continued her excellent run of form with an excellent win in Hong Kong last night. Tipped on this blogsite for the win the 4 year old fillie bamboozled the rest of the field winning in style at nice odds of 10/1. If you backed this horse on my recommendation I'll expect your cheque in the post!!!!!

Nero Daytona delivers in Dubai

In a highly exciting Ladbrookes maiden juvenile race in Dubai last evening our each way tip Nero Daytona just missed out on what would have been the first win of his career to register a second placed finish at odds of 8/1. After another excellent run it seems only a matter of time before the Redhalo Racing trained 2 year old picks up that elusive victory.

Auctions for September will open on Friday 8 September 2006 at 10:00 GMT. Enter your horses before closing on Saturday 9 September 2006 at 12:00 GMT, and place your bids before Sunday 10 September 2006 at 21:00 GMT. Don't miss out!

Into Sunlight - 8:12 - 17/2

When Cham360 bought this 3 year old colt from the petong stable for £58 at the end of July the new owners had every confidence that this boy would be a star performer. Since the purchase date the black colt has won three races and been placed in five others ( though some of these were in small fields). Into Sunlight enjoyed a succesful August bringing career earnings up to £363 and he seems to be in the right form to challenge tonight in Canada at decent odds of 17/2. A steady performer he likes this going and has had success in North America in the past. A solid each way contender.

Strawberry Hill - 8:48 - 10/1

Called after a sports college in London this 4 year old fillie would rise to top of her class with a victory in Hong Kong this evening. In 28 runs the Menace trained girl has won in 5 and been placed in 14 suggesting her best is yet to come. With a win and two second placed finishes in her last three races shes starting to put together a run of consistency which will please the owners and if she gets a good jockey tonight then the purple patch is likely to continue. This will be only her second trip out on yielding but success on soft in recent weeks suggest a win or place is not beyond her tonight.

Craving Ceri - 9:12 - 11/1

In one of her most difficult challenges in recent weeks 'Craving for Ceri' hopes to add to the career earings already ammassed totalling £1,036. A fine fillie she only shows up for the big races and aims to win back to back races after a big win in Hong Kong four days ago. The 3 year old fillie has had a problem keeping weight down in recent weeks but she looks in fine shape to launch an assault on this field this evening. Up against top horses including Night Hag and LSS she will have to be at her best if shes to suprise the bookies. Placed finish highly probable.

Jonz 79 stable taking getminted by storm

Few owners have had the start to getminted that the Jonz 79 stable have had since joining us on the 28th of May this year. Proving that you don't need a massive stable to succeed the newcomer has won £1,900 in earnings in just three months with high flyer Silver Bullet being the star of the stable. In 78 races the stable has won in 19 and been placed in 28. Keep an eye out for the colourful Jon79 silks, they'll be coming to a winner's circle near you soon!

Super Sonic - 8:12 - 18/1

Theres no doubt but that Super Sonic has been a source of much frustration for the big boy steve stable. With a hoard of 4th and 5th placed finishes recently it seems the 4 year old grey colt is within touching distance of many more wins and places. In 102 competitive runs he's won in just 10 which isn't the best ratio of wins to runs but he's also been placed in 45 races bringing in career winnings of £424. Tonight in the 8:12 from Hong Kong the bookies has given him the price of 18/1. More familiar with the two mile distance this shorter trip may be just whats needed for Super sonic as he bids to add to his winnings. Good each way potential.

Nero Daytona - 8:36 - 8/1

The Redhalo Racing yard have earmarked this race for success by entering a number of horses in the field. Nero Daytona is an accomplished colt already though he's still waiting for his first win. WIth three placed finishes out of four races he's shown what he's made of and could go close this evening. When last out on muddy the black marauder finished in third on the 11th of August in a field of 10. He likes the distance and going and if he gets a good jockey he could even break his duck and win in Dubai this evening however another placed finish is far more likely.

Upper Slaughter - 9:48 - 20/1

Make no mistake about it a tough task lies ahead for Upper Slaughter in the 9:48 race from Canada but this vastly experienced 7 year old fillie could well be good enough to spring a suprise. In erratic form of late shes had a very succesful career to date earing just over a grand (127 competitive runs, 26 wins, 51 placed finishes). Owned by the Van Verden stable they'll be keeping their fingers crossed that the old girl can reproduce the kind of form that has made her a getminted legend in the past. May nick a place but it will all depend on how cleverly she runs the race. If she can hold back and make her characteristic late surge for the line then a placing is very possible.

Delight in Scotland as Wigs7 hits the 100 winners mark!

They were dancing on the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh at the weekend after Beachnut captured the 100th win for the wigs7 stable. In a three horse race with every one of them being from the stable the outcome was fairly predictable but never the less it's a great achievemnet for the owner who joined us back on Christmas day last year! Total stats for the stable reads 775 runs, 100 wins and 304 placed finishes with £1,308 earned so far. Well done Wigs7, can you hit the 150 wins by Christmas day? I reckon you can!

Baggy Anne - 8:48 - 9/2

All the signs are good for this 3 year old fillie in the 8:48 race tonight. Consistent and solid the menzie's trained girl is well used to this track and will fancy her chances in a small field of 8. Baggy Anne is yet to register a victory for the stable but in four races she has picked up four placed finishes. This will be the longest journey over which she will have run, normally used to the shorter distances the 2 mile trip will really test her. However if she can stay with the pace then I'm confident that she can at least nick a place.

Thyme Share - 9:12 - 14/1

Trainers Elephant Zoo must scratch their heads and wonder why this boy hasn't picked up more wins. In 19 competitive starts the 3 year old who was bought on the 12th of May has only won once, that being on the 23rd of June when with the Foxy 911 stable. Thyme Share usually avoids racing over fast but has shown in the past that he can handle the ground. A steady performer and well rested since his last race five days ago he should do well at these over priced odds.

Amadeus Mozart - 9:48 - 11/1

Okay lets back this boy for the win in the 9:48 race from Dubai. In tip-top shape at the moment the 4 year old has won three of his last five races moving his career earnings up to £577. Its a sign of high highly this black colt is rated that Gus wing paid £325 for him in April of this year as he moved from the Racingslim stable. A great Champion he could well pick up career win number 23 in Dubai this evening.

Shark attack puts smile on punter's mugs!

After a splendid run last night derekw10's 'shark attack' pulled off a second place finish in Dubai at long odds of 18/1. As they came to the line the three year old fillie finished just half a length behind the eventual winner. As I said yesterday she loves the soft going and she did this tipping page proud with a good run.

Another one of last night's tips 'Chances Dream' stormed home to register his third win out of three races and bring earnings up to £180. At 5/1 the odds were decent so I hope you backed him as advised here!

A big welcome to Getminted's latest owner - Ms Silver

Amid all the doom and gloom of the system crashing it was lovely to see new owner Ms Silver getting in on the action on the forums. From what I can see 'Silver chip' is the only horse in the stable at the moment but with the help and advice of her co-owners I'm sure Ms Silver will be a big hit in the paddock. Best of luck with the new stable and show the boys how to do it!

Kew the music - 8:12 - 36/1

I was a bit suprised when I saw the odds for this tanky trained 3 year old colt as he's been in a good run of form of late. After securing three placed finishes in the last four races optimism is high that Kew the music can have them singing in the aisles in Dubai this evening. Total stats for the black stallion stand at 16 competitive runs, 1 win and 7 placed finishes, not great but then again the standard of this field is average at best. At these long odds he's certainly worth an each way punt.

Shark Attack - 8:24 - 18/1

If theres a type of going this girl likes then it's soft. The 3 year old fillie has already recorded two wins over this going in her short career and at these over generous odds she's worth a flutter in the 8:24 race from the UK. Coming into this race on the back of a fine win at this very track six days ago confidence will be high though shes up against some high quality opponents in this field including Buttonz and Be my queen. Still I think she's good enough to at least get a placed finish.

Chances Dream - 9:24 - 5/1

Well what can you say about this youngster - two races, two devasting performances, two wins! Last time out in the USA two days ago the sebonline trained 2 year old colt ran away with the Getminted Monthly Challenge Qualifier race and in just two races has already earned £108 for the stable. Sebonline are just nine wins away from the 100 mark and with this boy in the yard that milestone will surely come sooner rather than later. I'm going to back him for the win this evening but if that doesnt come about he should finish in the top three.

Maximas hits the 200 winners mark less than 12 months after joining

Some people are just made to be owners and the Maximas stable clearly fit this description. In a busy year the stable whose charges run in blue and yellow silks has eclipsed the 200 winners mark and has raised over £5,000 in winnings so far. The now retired Luxor Princess was a past star of the yard but now the focus centers on the likes of 'Won't do much', 'Midnight Sonata', 'Need more runs' and 'Tayasu David'. The biggest stable win came for the yard's top earner 'Opus One' when he won the King George Classic Qualifier 4-7Y C on the 7th of January in America. A high quality owner he should clear the 300 winners mark before the end of the year all going well.

In another succesful night for this tipping page Azurite Malachite from the Clan stable did enough to pick up a second placed finish in the 9:12 race as predicted. At huge odds of 20/1 you would have done very well indeed if you had gone each way here as I advised.

Meteoro - 8:24 - 42/1

While the bookies believe this 3 year old colt will be outclassed in this race in Hong Kong this evening I'm really not so sure. My confidence that this Sagitario 38 trained boy will do well has as much to do with the quality of the rest of the field as it has with Meteoro's racing ability. In 38 starts the Grey has won in just five but to his credit has picked up 17 placed finishes and has amassed earnings of £304 since joining getminted racing on the 7th of April. After two solid runs in Level weight races where the going was soft recently I'm all the more confident that Meteoro can embarass the bookies and perhaps nick a placed finish.

Bug on a chip - 8:48 - 20/1

You'd know I had a few good days with tips as now I'm backing horses who the bookies think are basically making up the numbers! It's not going to be easy for 'bug on a chip' in the USA tonight and he'll have to pull out all the stops if he's to challenge for top honours. Without a win in his 12 race career so far things have started to look up for the Efisio trained 3 year old colt recently with some steady performances. I'm a bit worried about the distance but Efisio is a talented owner and I'm sure they know what they're doing! Perhaps you'd make something here on an each way.

Ghostfaced Killer - 8:57 - 11/2

Wow, what an uplifting name for a horse!!! Anyway name aside this 2 year old colt has brought nothing but joy to the slowstables so far this month. With a well fought win and a placing in his two races so far the grey could go on a run and bring some much welcomed consistency to the stable. This will be his first time racing on soft but he handled yielding well in his maiden race and so should have little problem with soft. A horse to keep an eye on I wouldn't rule out a victory here this evening at decent odds.

Magnificent night for tipster as all three tips come in!

Wow! what results we had last night. All our tips came good with squirrel nutkin rounding off a fabulous night with a storming win. The Socrates trained 6 year old colt picked up his 22nd career win at odds of 7/1 in the 9:12 race. Before the old timer's success Monster Magnet finished in second in the 8:36 race while Nang Kwak finished in the places (3rd) in the 8:57 at a huge 14/1. Well done to all the owners involved, you've made one Irish man very happy indeed!!!!!!

Now lets see if we can do it again tonight! For all the top Getminted racing tips please click on read more......

State Trooper - 8:12 - 13/1

In a race of new comers you'd have to fancy the chances of a horse trained by the great Ken Allan's Stable. The 2 year old colt fared well in his one and only race to date 9 days ago when he finished just over half a length behind Enigmatic smile in a Maiden Juvenile race in Hong Kong. Ken Allan seems happy with this distance for State Trooper and I've a feeling he's going to embarass the bookies with a strong run here tonight.

Azurite Malachite - 9:12 - 20/1

With a place to run ratio of 45% you'd have to consider this horse's chances of success at such long odds. However the stats can be misleading, many of Azurite Malachite's 32 placed finishes came in very small fields and technically weren't placed finishes at all. How and ever he's excellent when running well and after a run of 3rd and 4th place finishes I think he could improve tonight. I'm not ruling out a win on the muddy going in Canada but I reckon a placing is much more likley.

Careless Whisper - 9:36 - 12/1

It's rare that you get a horse in getminted racing called after a George Michael song, indeed rumours that the former star was spotted in the woods behind the track in Canada are misfounded and without substance! Anyway lets look at this 3 year old fillie. She was purchased by Dallas1 in June of this year from the Redoubtable Equine stable for £900 with the great man obviously expecting big things from the Grey girl.In 15 career starts Careless whisper has been victorious in 2 and been placed in 6. She's had one win and two placed finishes in August but Dallas will be expecting better. I can't see her finishing outside the places thing evening and she makes for a solid each way punt.

Goldengums stable raises a very important point

The following message was posted by the Goldengums stable and it raises a solid issue which all owners (especially new ones) should be aware of.

" I didn't know horses could be so picky - I have re run my horse and found that it can only run on one type of going and at one distance - When it runs to these conditions it produces STAR quaility tt's - otherwise it could be overlooked as an Adv grade 1 horse. How many other horses are there out there like this - I might have killed off dozens!!!! "

It's imperative that you try out your horses over every type of going and distance to ensure you get the best out of them as in real racing. Some horses like dirt tracks others don't. Allow time to check this out before running your horses. I know the temptation to see your latest recruit running in your colours is high but make sure you do the groundwork first.

Monster Magnet - 8:36 - 13/2

What a strange record this 3 year old black colt from the Diablo racing stable has. In 30 races he's won in a massive 13 (43% win to run ratio) but has only been placed in 4! It seems that when he's in form Monster Magnet is impossible to beat but if he wakes up on the wrong side of his straw bed then he loses interest. In the earlier part of his career this boy had great success on fast going but in the last few months that love affair with fast going has frozen over. Hopefully at a nice price tonight the Diablo Destroyer can return to good form on fast and may even win. Good each way chance.

Nang Kwak - 8:57 - 14/1

Its been a case of 'always the bridesmaid never the bride' recently for this Abaddon trained colt! Maybe that should read 'always the bestman, never the groom'!!! Anyway the popular 4 year old colt has trailed in second in his last three races especially unlucky not to pick up a win on the 11th of August in Australia when he finished just a third of a length behind mosey along in a level weight race for 4 to 7 year old colts. In 72 runs Nang Kwak has won in 15 and been placed in 32 bringing in £1,145 in prize winnings thus far. An impressive horse that elusive 16th win will come soon but I predict a place here tonight at great odds.

Squirrel Nutkin - 9:12 - 7/1

I've always been a fan of this horse since his time with the Diablo racing and LUFC stables. Now settling in to the Socrates stable he's hoping to pick up his 22nd win and the yard's 35th. It seems however the 6 year old colt could be on the move again after the owners entered him in a claiming race three days ago. Squirell Nutkin answered his critics well winning in that race and will be out to prove that he's not past his best tonight.Showing a high level of consistency of late I think he certainly has a chance of victory in the 9:12 race down under but would favour an each way punt.

If anyone can the Clan can!

There were wild celebrations in the Clan household on Sunday night as the stable notched up it's 500th win. Furlongz, a 2 year old colt running in just his fourth race did the honours in a maiden juvenille race. The Clan with us as owners since the 17th of July 2003 have also had 1,243 placed finishes in a grand total of 3,577 races earning prize money of £37,273 along the way. Congratulations to you sir, may the next 500 wins taste just as sweet!

Rocks off - 8:12 - 40/1

Owners 'tikenlikkle' really have confidence in this 3 year old colt and say his training times over these conditions suggest he could run much better than these long odds suggest this evening. In 16 starts so far Rocks off has earned £137 in winnings (4 wins and 4 placed finishes). In his last race on fast he was impressive finishing third in an A and B divison race in America. It's been just over a month since Rocks off picked up his last win and while I don't expect him to win this evening a place seems well within his capabilities once he gets a good jockey.

Sabre Quest - 8:57 - 9/2

August has been a good month for Sabre Quest. In his three runs so far this month he's finished in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and has shown signs that he's a handful at this level. The most recent of his 3 wins came on the 13th of August when he romped home to defeat a field of ten in Austraila. In 22 runs he's also picked up 9 placed finishes and owners RedHalo racing will be confident their charge can challenge for top honours this evening.

Napolean Dynamite - 9:36 - 22/1

Fitness levels permitting Napolean Dynamite has every chance of making it four wins on the trot. The hugely impressive 4 year old colt has won his last three races, all on muddy (the same going we have this evening) and has had a week long rest since his last outing in Canada. Having supassed the £1,000 winners mark he now has his sights set on a 22nd career win. After the exploits oif mid August I think a place is more likely for one of the top horses running on getminted racing.

Double trouble as Secrets of War and Marie Celeste sail home at tasty odds!

Well maybe, just maybe there was a smile on the face of the Death Row stable owner last night as 'secrets of war' put in a tremendous run in the 8:12 race from Hong Kong to pick up a great win at 17/2. If you followed our advice and backed the 3 year old colt then well done. Meanwhile 'Marie Celeste' also delivered for us sailing in for a second place finish in the next race the 8:24 at 8/1. Pints on me today folks!

For all tonight's top Getminted racing tips please clcik on read more.....

Experimented - 8:24 - 7/1

This certainly isn't a horse I get too excited about but I think given the low quality of this field that the 3 year old fillie has a decent chance of success at good odds. In 11 starts so far (8 competitive; 3 claimers) Experimented has won in 4 and been placed in 1. Amazingly this is her first time ever running on fast so it will be interetsing to see what happens. Decent each way hope tonight in the USA over her favoured distance.

Kanefertemre- 8:57 - 28/1

Get a pen and scribble down the name of this 3 year old colt becuase you may be looking at a star of the future. The derekw10 trained black marauder has won in 3 and been placed in 2 of his 6 starts so far and is being tipped for great things. Tonight at the attractive price of 28/1 the owners will be concious of weight problems but even still he should run well and finish in the places at the very least.

Armani Vesargi - 9:12 - 11/1

It's now been over five weeks since this 7 year old bay coloured fillie last tasted success. Since then she's been motoring along in above average style picking up a number of places but falling down the pecking order in terms of one of the recent greats. In 148 races the Andy hargie trained veteran has won in 18 and been placed in 61 races totting up £1,618 in winnings in just under a year and a half. In a wide open race in Dubai this evening I expect the old girl who has only raced once this month to secure yet another placing.

Fallon's woes continue

A disappointed Kieren Fallon was on his way back to Ireland yesterday after being refused a licence by the Illinois Racing Board to ride at today's prestigious Arlington Million meeting.
Ballydoyle's retained jockey had travelled to America in the hope of being allowed to partner Ace in the Arlington Million and Ivan Denisovich in the Secretariat Stakes.
However, his journey was in vain as the decision had already been made while he was on his flight from Dublin.

Secrets of war - 8:12 - 17/2

There are as many rays of sunshine in this stable as there are in a solitary confinement cell! This horse 'Secrets of war' shares the Death Row yard with horses such as Lady of Rage, Grand Larceny and Bad intentions !!! Ah well, each to their own! The name may not be very uplifting but the 3 year old's form cerainly is. As he looks for three in a row in Hong Kong this evening the bookies have given him a tasty 17/2 price and I think he should be good enough to get at least a place and put a smile on his owners face!! Then again maybe the smile wont materialise!

marie celeste - 8:24 - 8/1

This 7 year old fillie has always disappointed in terms of securing wins but finally can smell the scent of that £1,000 prize winning figure! This is largely thanks to a hefty amount of placed finishes in her 5 years with us. In total Marie Celeste has been out in 135 competitive races, winning in just 16 but being placed in a massive 63 (thats a 47% place to run ratio!). A winner last time out in England on Thursday she looks good coming into this race and should get something out of it.

Golden Star - 8:48 - 44/1

Huge odds for a horse with far more potential than the short price suggests. While he's been running in fairly average fields of late he's steadily improving and won in his last race in Canada yesterday. This will be Golden Star's third race in three days so fatigue may be a factor but if the 4 year old colt from the mr gump stable can run to his full potential then he could suprise and nick a placed finish.

Outpouring of support

Following yesterdays news that Dallas1 had been hospitalised there's been a wonderful reaction from the Getminted racing Community. At the time of writing almost 100 messages of support have been posted on the forum pages showing how tight-knit and caring those involved are. Well done guys and gals I'm sure Dallas would be overwhelmed by the reaction of his co-owners and friends.

The Contender - 8:12 - 17/2

I've backed this 5 year old fillie in the past but on both occassions she let me down (story of my life!) but hopefully tonight will be third time lucky! Currently in an excellent run of form the bellamy stables trained girl has won once and finished in the places in six of her last seven races though some were in smallish fields. With 8 wins and 15 placed finishes out of 39 races shes certainly going in the right direction and though shes in a high quality field tonight I feel her familiarity with races of this grade will stand to her. Good each way potential.

Gower Peninsula - 8:24 - 20/1

This Welsh wizard favours the muddy going and will relish the opportunity to pass the £400 in earnings marker with a good run in Canada this evening. A winner when last in a Level weight race on the 19th of July the 3 year old colt has impressed in recent weeks and owners Starskey will expect another big run from Gower Peninsula tonight. Total stats read 32 races, 7 wins and 14 places and at 20/1 she represents really good value to at least nick a place.

Sompting Roses - 9:36 - 6/1

A veteran at this stage Sompting Roses is on personal terms with every blade of grass at getminted's race tracks! The 6 year old fillie has her eyes firmly fixed on the 50 winners mark and may well go one step closer to that milestone tonight. In 187 races the derekw10 trained fillie has won in 46 races (25% win to run ratio) and has been placed in 71.This legend enjoyed great success under the guidance of Dallas1 but has continued to impress since joing the current stable in e of this year.

Getminted racing community rallies around Dallas 1 in his darkest hour

Dallas1 giving a few tips to Bryan1969 and Dawn (Bondagebabe)

I know I speak for everyone involved in Getminted racing when I say that I was truly shocked by the news that our top owner Dallas 1 suffered a heart attack in the last couple of days. Postings of support have been flodding in to the Getminted racing forum for a man who represents everything thats good about the game. As well as being a top owner himself Dallas has always been very willing to help other owners and has made many friends across the virtual racing world. Andy from Andy Hargie stables will take care of the Dallas1 stable in the great man's absense and we wish him all the best also.

One of Getminted's longest serving owners passes the 400 winner mark!

Not many owners can claim to be with Raceclubs/Getminted racing since 2003 but alice cartier has been a loyal owner since December 6th of that year. Now with 409 wins from 2,832 races the top horse in terms of prizemoney earned was Aloni who retired at the end of 2004. Now with a reduced stable of 8 horses Baltic Viking and King of the west seem to be the new ones to watch out for from the stable as alice Cartier goes in search of that 500 winner's mark.

Grand Empire - 8:36 - 13/2

In fine form at the moment this Major Chase trained colt comes into this race on the back of a good win in Dubai six days ago and the rest could be vital in this evening's assault for victory. In 60 races the 5 year old has secured the win in 16 races and has been placed 21 times. Grand Empire has cost almost £300 in purchase fees in his career so you can see Getminted owners value him very highly. A good run tonight should secure a placing and raise his stock even further.

Dalcash Admiral - 8:57 - 5/1

When you've a 62 % win to run ratio after 32 runs then you just know you're special!Abbey Racing have a gem on their hands with Dalcash Admiral and the 3 year old colt is set for a hot career if current trends continue. In 32 races he's won in a whopping 20 and has been placed in another 6. With earnings already of £350 he's the new star of the Abbey racing stable and should run well again this evening after an eight day rest since his last outing. Great each way value in the 8:57 race from down under.

Lightening Lee - 9:24 - 38/1

Make no mistake about it this race will represent a step up in class for Lightening Lee but I'm confident the gandalf29 colt has what it takes to make the transition smoothly. He's been battling well in the so called lower divisions of getminted racing and has won 3 of his last 5 races including one over muddy going which is what is underfoot this evening in Canada. A handy horse whose won 3 and been placed in 2 of his 7 races so far he could well add another place to that with a good run in this race.

Doping in racing - surely not!

One day, the Clerk of the Course spotted a trainer giving something to a horse just before the start of a race. He went over and said, "Doping?" The trainer said, "Indeed not, Sir. 'Tis just lump sugar. Look, I'll take a bit myself.....see?" The Clerk of the Course said, "Sorry, but we have to be careful. As a matter of fact, I like a bit of sugar myself." So the trainer gave him a piece. When the Clerk of the Course disappeared, the trainer gave his jockey his last minute instructions, "Don't forget the drill. Hold him in 'til the last four furlongs. Don't worry if anything passes you, it'll be me or the Clerk of the Course!"

Seriously though well done to Alphaville last night who did well to finish in second in the 8:12 race at good odds of 12/1.

Amadeus Mozart - 8:12 - 14/1

There's only one word for this boy's recent record on muddy going and thats 'fantastic'. In his last 8 races over this type of ground Amadeus Mozart has won in five and been placed in another one. Well rested from his last race on the 29th of July owners Gis Wing will be confident that their 4 year old grade one colt can do some damage today. With three wins in the last five races his odds are a suprise for this evening's race in Canada but we dont mind, the longer the better! Unless something goes badly wrong then Amadeus Mozart should finish in the places at the very least.

Carnoustie Links - 8:48 - 11/1

In the three months he's been with us on getminted racing this 3 year old colt from the dommo stables has slowly be surely settled into the racing and has managed to pull in £150 for the golf loving owner!Dommo joined us an an owner back on the 15th of September 2003 and has clocked up 533 winners in that time so he knows a good horse when he sees it. Carnoustie Link's stats read 19 runs, 5 wins and 9 placed finishes. Recent form has been consistent with the 3 year old's last win coming on the 23rd of June in Hong Kong. Has only raced twice since the end of June so Dommo will be hoping the Links isn't rusty.

Royal Assent - 8:57 - 17/2

New Kid on the block Royal Assent will have his work cut out for him in the 8:57 in Canada this evening when he lines up against many more experienced horses. However in his 7 competitive starts so far for the Mr. Monkey stable the 3 year old clack colt has shown grit, determination and attitude in large fields. The Ken Allan's stable decided to get rid of Royal Assent after just one race and sao he joined the Mr. Monkey stable on the 16th of July. This new stable has been excellent so far winning in 21 and being placed in 37 of it's 123 runs. Has handled good going well in the past and if he runs to his potential could even snatch the win here. Safer to go for an each way though.

Bora Bora delivers at massive odds for tipster!

Well the place may be famous as its supposed to be the home of Osama Bin Laden but last night the virtual horse of the same name made 'Bora Bora' famous for other reasons. At 38/1 the five year old fillie from the Asturteam stable ran the race of her life to finish second in Australia against the odds. She was backed by this tipping page so its champagne all around! The result followed another success for us when Georgina's dream also finished in second in the 8:12 race again at great odds of 15/1.

Alphaville - 8:12 - 12/1

With earnings of £355 in just 15 races it's obvious that the 3 year old colt from the bluess7 stable has quality to spare. Bought on the 11th of June Alphaville has won in 2 of his 15 races thus far and picked up 15 places along the way also. He comes into this race on the back of a fine win in Dubai on the 28th of July and though this will be difficult race he must be fancied for a place at these healthy odds.

Dolores Rocket - 8:24 - 13/1

After a much needed two day rest Dolores Rocket comes into this race hoping to make it four wins out of seven races. The 4 year old fillie was bought by the Big Boy steve stable from Orion Racing for just £55. Its proved to be money well spent with Dolores Rocket piling up the good performances. She won when last out on muddy on the 1st of this month and a similar performance today could well deliver the same result. Great each way option.

Flying Mojo - 9:24 - 4/1

Granted short odds but if the 3 year old colt can win at these odds you'd be happy. Second favourite the Foxy 911 colt never seems to be on anything other than a good run. With 7 wins and 17 placed finishes in 35 races the grey horse is quickly cementing his place in Getminted racing folklore. A win here highly possible.

Georgina's gem - 8:12 - 15/1

As this is a B division race you'd have to fancy this 4 year old colt's chances of running much better than the odds of 15/1 suggest. In 47 starts the Mr Gump trained colt has picked up 5 wins and 17 placed finishes struggling in the higher quality races but faring well in races of this grade. His last win came on firm going in Hong Kong in an A and B division race on the 17th of July. Well rested since his last race on the 27th of last month he should be raring to go in Australia tonight and offers great each way value.

Bora Bora - 8:24 - 38/1

Any chance Bora Bora has of causing an upset down under this evening depends on a good start. When running well the 5 year old fillie is unbeatable but all too often her mind seems miles away and she disappoints. In 113 starts the horse named after the infamous mountain range in Afganistan where Bin Laden is presumed to be living has won 17 times and been placed in 34. With earnings of £927 shes on the cusp of the £1,000 mark and owners Asturteam who are stuck on 249 wins will be hoping their girl delivers this evening though a place is more likely.

Jossy's Giant - 8:57 - 14/1

The old boy is settling in to the new sackman stable after being bought by them from the Clan stable just under two weeks ago. He may be approaching old age in virtual racing terms but at 14/1 he still represents real value in the 8:57 race from the USA. With a win and two second placed finishes in his last five races confidence must be high for the new sackman stable and a placed finish is well within Jossy's Giant's abilities. His last win on fast going came on the 9th of April at this same ground so a repeat performance would be well celebrated.

His Excellency - 8:12 - 9/2

While this Heysie trained 5 year old colt prefers other types of going to fast the odds of 9/2 seem to offer real value in a field short of serious quality. In 63 competitive outings His Excellency has recorded 8 wins and 22 placed finishes. Previously owned by Diablo racing this boy has earned £636 since starting on getminted back on the 16th of December. Comes into this race on the back of a win in Hong Kong on good going on the 31st of July. A steady entrant he will be hoping to improve on his poor win to run ratio tonight but perhaps a placed finish is more likely with the excellent La Gazza Ladra installed as the firm favourite.

Nenikikamen - 8:36 - 11/1

This was never a commentator's favourite but the punters adore this old boy. And when you look at his stats you can see why. In 95 races the 7 year old colt has won in 29 races ( 31% win to run ratio) and has been placed in 31. He's in a solid run of form at the moment with one win and four placed finishes in his last five races. With career winnings to date of almost £2000 its clear that this is one of the best and should go close in the 8:36 from Hong Kong tonight.

Upton Lark Boy - 9:24 - 40/1

Obviously owners Fat Lummox are always blowing bubbles! Their charge Upton Lark Boy has had a strange few months with the stable. Since the end of March the 5 year old colt has only run twice and didnt put in an appearence in all of May, June and most of July. There were rumours that he'd been shot by the West Ham side but judging by their penalty taking in the FA Cup final I always knew Upton Lark Boy was safe enough! Its great to see him back and tonight a placed finish is very likely.

Time trials, what to look out for!

For the more experienced owners the do and donts of time trials will be second nature but for new owners finding the right conditions in which to train your horse are vital. There are a number of important factors to consider before finding out if your fillie is a born sprinter or your young colt is a stayer for the long distances. When training your horse try him/her out over different distances and on different types of going. It is important to remember as well that by racing your horse against the same age and sex of barrier horse you will be able to analyise your horses preferrences more accurately. Many owners give up on a horse when they see it fail at a particular distance or on a certain type of going but remember just with real horses there are conditions which suit horses better than others. Most importantly though never be shy when asking other owners for advice, they are the ones who know the game best and usually will only be too ready to offer good advice. Happy racing!
